A delegation from the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood (SCMC), including members of the Emirati Children’s Parliament, visited Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan, on Wednesday. The visit was part of an official program aimed at promoting cultural exchange, sustainable development, and innovation.
Directives from UAE Leadership
The visit followed the directives of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union and President of the SCMC. She has emphasized empowering children and youth, fostering innovation, and supporting cultural and knowledge exchange at an international level.
Participation of Emirati Children’s Parliament
The Emirati Children’s Parliament played a central role in the visit. The delegation explored global trends in artificial intelligence, sustainability, and innovative solutions for future development. Members actively engaged with international exhibits to expand their knowledge and perspectives.
Delegation Members and Roles
The delegation included Abdullah Badr Al Ali, head of the delegation; Saeed Ahmed Al Rumaithi, President of the UAE Youth Council for Agriculture; Maryam bint Hassan Al Ghafri, Chair of the Environmental and Sustainability Committee; and Emirati inventor Ali Al Loughani. Their presence reflected the UAE’s commitment to youth leadership and innovation.
Tours of UAE and Japan Pavilions
The delegation toured the UAE Pavilion, learning about the nation’s achievements across education, technology, sustainability, and culture. They also visited the Japan Pavilion and the Women’s Pavilion, the latter building on the legacy of Expo 2020 Dubai as the first World Expo pavilion dedicated to women.
Promoting Global Values and Cooperation
Abdullah Badr Al Ali emphasized that the visit embodies the UAE leadership’s vision to enhance global presence and promote cooperation, innovation, and sustainability. He noted that it highlights the importance of children as partners in shaping the present and building the future.
Youth Empowerment and Knowledge Exchange
The participation enabled Emirati Children’s Parliament members to engage with diverse cultures, exchange ideas, and acquire meaningful experiences. It reinforces the UAE’s support for youth empowerment and their role in fostering national progress and global competitiveness.
The visit also aligned with the UAE’s goals of promoting sustainable development, scientific innovation, and knowledge-sharing. It provided an opportunity for children to gain practical insights into global challenges and solutions in education, technology, and environmental sustainability.
The delegation’s engagement at Expo 2025 Osaka reflects the UAE’s continued commitment to empowering children and youth. The initiative ensures that young Emiratis can contribute meaningfully to global development while strengthening the country’s international presence.
