Empowering Women Entrepreneurs: UAE's Impact at the GCC Forum

Post by : Bianca Haleem

A group of 30 businesswomen from the UAE, representing the Emirates Businesswomen Council (EBWC), made a significant impact during the 7th GCC Businesswomen Forum in Qatar on 12–13 November. This event spotlighted the essential role women play in promoting entrepreneurship and sustainable investments throughout the Gulf.

Under the theme “Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Investment,” the forum convened female leaders from various Gulf nations to share insights, identify opportunities, and enhance economic collaboration. Organized by the Federation of GCC Chambers alongside Qatar Chamber, and supported by the Gulf Cooperation Council, the gathering served as a vital platform for nurturing women-led initiatives in blossoming sectors.

The UAE delegation articulated a progressive vision aimed at empowering women in the Gulf economy, emphasizing vital fields such as the digital economy, renewable energy, and tech-driven entrepreneurship. This participation exemplifies the UAE’s commitment to fostering female leadership and expanding the international engagement of Emirati women in the business landscape.

Ayesha Mohammed Almulla, Chairperson of EBWC, stressed the necessity of collaboration for a diversified and sustainable Gulf economy. She stated, “Building partnerships among businesswomen in the GCC and investing in innovative sectors is crucial for empowering women to lead in shaping our modern economy.”

Held during the forum were insightful discussions on sustainable finance, entrepreneurial innovation, and knowledge exchange, creating fresh pathways for investment and regional cohesion. Initiatives like this empower Gulf women to actively contribute to economic development, reinforcing the UAE’s dedication to gender-inclusive growth in local, regional, and global marketplaces.
