Dubai, UAE – On the inaugural day of the Dubai Airshow 2025, GE Aerospace unveiled plans for a new On Wing Support (OWS) facility at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub (MBRAH) in Dubai South. This strategic initiative underscores GE Aerospace's commitment to meeting the rising demands for engine services, especially with the anticipated launch of the GE9X engine.
The new facility, spanning 120,000 square feet, marks a significant increase from the current 29,000-square-foot area. It is designed to function as a central hub for maintenance, field operations, technological advancements, and training, and will be the first OWS site to incorporate specialized MRO training areas for both internal staff and clients.
This hub will be pivotal in maintaining CFM LEAP engines, a growing segment of GE Aerospace’s engine fleet. By employing state-of-the-art technologies and efficient processes, the facility aims to enhance turnaround times, optimize lease pool management, and provide comprehensive field support across GE Aerospace, CFM International, and Engine Alliance engines.
Situated strategically near the future Al Maktoum International Airport, poised to become the world's largest airport, this investment is further entrenched by Dubai South's connectivity across air, sea, and land routes. This positions GE Aerospace at the center of a burgeoning aviation landscape.
Construction is planned to commence in December 2025, with operational readiness projected for the first quarter of 2027. This development not only reinforces GE Aerospace’s presence in the region but also supports the UAE’s ambition to emerge as a premier global hub for aviation innovation.
