Google Expands AI Search Mode to 180 Nations Worldwide

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

Google has announced a major update in its search services. The company revealed on Friday that its new AI-powered search mode, also known as AI Mode, is now available in more than 180 countries around the world. This expansion includes Arab nations too. Until now, this special feature was only available in the United States, the United Kingdom, and India. With the latest rollout, people in many countries can now experience Google search in a new, interactive way.

How AI Mode Works

AI Mode allows users to search for information in a chat-like style. Instead of simply typing a question and getting links, users can have an interactive conversation with the search system. It is designed to feel like chatting with a smart assistant that not only provides information but also helps in making decisions step by step.

Language Availability of AI Mode

Currently, Google has made AI Mode available only in English. This means that although many new countries, including those in the Arab world, now have access, the system does not yet support the Arabic language. Google has not announced when Arabic or other regional languages will be added. However, the company’s history suggests that more languages may be included in the future as the service grows.

New Agentic Capabilities

One of the biggest updates that comes with AI Mode is something Google calls Agentic capabilities. These are new powers added to the system that allow it to perform tasks, not just answer questions. For example, if a user wants to make a restaurant reservation, they can simply type the details into the search. The user can include the date, time, location, number of people, and the type of cuisine they prefer.

Restaurant Booking Made Easy

Once the details are entered, Google’s AI Mode searches across different restaurant booking platforms available online. After searching, it gives the user a list of restaurants that match their request. Each suggestion comes with a direct link, making it easy for the user to finish the reservation in just a few clicks. This feature is part of Google’s paid service called Google AI Ultra, which offers more advanced AI-powered tools to subscribers.

Personalized Search Experience

Google is also focusing on making AI Mode more personal. Instead of giving the same results to everyone, the system now considers the user’s past searches and preferences. For example, if a user often looks for vegetarian restaurants or always searches for flights to certain destinations, AI Mode can keep that in mind. This way, it provides more accurate and relevant suggestions that fit each individual’s needs.

Sharing Search Results Easily

Another new feature introduced with this rollout is the ability to share AI Mode results. Users can copy a link from their search and paste it into a message or email. Friends, family members, or colleagues who receive the link can open it and continue the search from the exact same point. This makes it easier for groups to plan things together, such as choosing a restaurant or finding travel options.

Expansion Beyond Initial Countries

When Google first launched AI Mode, it was available only in three countries—the United States, the United Kingdom, and India. The system was tested in these regions before being introduced more widely. After receiving positive feedback and making improvements, Google decided to expand it to over 180 nations. This move shows how quickly Google is trying to make AI-driven tools part of everyday life for users worldwide.

The Future of Google AI Mode

With this expansion, Google has made clear that it is investing heavily in AI technology. The company wants to make searching the internet faster, easier, and more interactive. Right now, the service is limited in language and features, but as time goes on, it is expected that more updates will come. These could include support for different languages, smarter personalization, and wider task-handling abilities beyond restaurant bookings.

Impact on Users Around the World

For people in many countries, this rollout will change how they use Google Search. Instead of browsing through long lists of links, they can now chat with the AI and get exactly what they are looking for in fewer steps. For busy users, the ability to directly book restaurants, get personalized suggestions, and share searches with others can save a lot of time.

Google’s expansion of AI Mode to 180 countries marks a big step in the future of online search. The addition of Agentic capabilities, personalized results, and sharing options makes the experience more useful and practical. Although the service is still limited to English, it sets the stage for a new way of searching the internet that feels more natural and connected to daily life. With Google’s ongoing efforts, AI Mode is likely to become even more powerful and widely used in the years ahead.
