The Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) announced a fresh exploration success after drilling and testing its second well, Hadiba-02, in the onshore Hadiba gas field north of the Sajaa field.
Early production testing uncovered additional gas-bearing intervals, verifying further reserves that support Sharjah’s expanding energy base. Drilled to roughly 13,200 feet, Hadiba-02 is expected to be tied into the production system within months, helping to stabilise and increase gas output.
Initially discovered in 2024 by Hadiba-01, the Hadiba field had already shown notable gas and associated liquids within the Thamama formations. The success of this second well cements Hadiba as Sharjah’s fifth onshore gas and condensate field and its second major discovery in the past five years.
SNOC said it will continue drilling activity at Hadiba to better define the field’s overall potential, positioning the site as an important contributor to the emirate’s domestic energy supply.
This result highlights Sharjah’s steady progress in upstream exploration and its commitment to long-term energy resilience. As the emirate pursues efficient resource development and sustainable growth, the Hadiba-02 milestone reinforces efforts toward greater energy independence.
