Hanoi Enhances Military Coordination Efforts

Post by : Shakul

Leaders from Vietnam's military and political spheres convened in Hanoi to assess the progress of coordination regulations established between the Central Military Commission and the Hanoi City Party Committee since the start of 2023.

Co-chaired by General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, and Tran Duc Thang, Hanoi City Party Secretary, the meeting brought together high-ranking military officers, ministry representatives, and local authorities. The primary focus was on solidifying defense and security partnerships within the capital.

Reported outcomes from the conference showcased effective collaboration in executing Party directives, state legislation, and defense strategies, alongside socio-economic initiatives in Hanoi. Officials noted that such cooperation has bolstered political stability and enhanced the city's defensive preparedness in recent years.

The discussions underscored the necessity of creating a robust national defense framework interconnected with public security systems and local defense regions across Hanoi. There was a concerted effort on improved management of defense land for critical infrastructure while ensuring military and security prerogatives remain intact.

During his address, General Phan Van Giang urged military units based in Hanoi to remain vigilant regarding the security landscape and be equipped for any defense challenges. He highlighted the imperative of formulating quick response strategies to secure political institutions and significant national events within the capital.

The Defense Minister called for enhanced synergy between defense blueprinting and socio-economic development frameworks to facilitate Hanoi's long-term aspirations. He suggested that future urban planning should harmonize economic growth with fortified defense and security systems to cultivate a safer and more resilient capital.

Tran Duc Thang, Secretary of the Hanoi Party, highlighted the critical need to bolster local military capacities within communities. He advocated for the advancement of reserve forces, local militia frameworks, and increased participation of citizens in national defense efforts.

Furthermore, he stressed social welfare initiatives aimed at military personnel and their families, urging local administrations to assist returning soldiers through job opportunities, housing, and integration into community life post-service. Special focus would also be given to benefits for veterans and families contributing to national defense.

Conference attendees acknowledged that ongoing collaboration between military bodies and Hanoi authorities is vital for maintaining political stability, ensuring public safety, and fostering lasting development within Vietnam's capital. Leaders committed to refining coordination mechanisms in the years ahead to fortify Hanoi's defense capabilities.
