The International Boxing Association (IBA) has announced that Dubai will host the 2025 IBA Men’s Elite World Championships from December 2 to December 13 at the city’s famous Tennis Stadium. This event is set to be part of a spectacular two-week Festival of Boxing, attracting top talent from around the world.
Boxers from all corners of the globe will compete for championship titles and a massive $8 million in prize money, making it the richest tournament in boxing history. Each category winner will take home $300,000, with second place earning $150,000, third place $75,000, and fifth place $10,000. The payout is shared with 50% going to the boxer, 25% to the coach, and 25% to the National Federation, highlighting the importance of teamwork in the sport.
IBA President Umar Kremlev explained that this prize distribution demonstrates the organization’s commitment to supporting both elite and grassroots boxing. “This World Championships is not just about prizes; it is about honoring every boxer, coach, and federation for their hard work and dedication,” he said. The event reflects IBA’s mission to reward excellence while protecting and promoting boxing worldwide.
The 2025 IBA Men’s Elite World Championships will turn Dubai into a global boxing hub this December. Athletes will compete under their national flags, showcasing skill, determination, and sportsmanship. The festival is designed not only as a competition but also as a celebration of boxing culture and its values, combining high-level matches with fan experiences, exhibitions, and cultural events.
With over 75 years of history, IBA has guided and developed some of the finest boxers in the world. This championship continues that legacy by uniting top boxing nations and providing a platform for the sport to shine internationally. The festival will include additional events like the IBA Global Boxing Forum, a top-class IBA Pro Event, and the IBA Congress, creating a full-scale experience for participants, officials, and fans alike.
Chris Roberts OBE, Secretary General & CEO of IBA, said, “The IBA Men’s Elite World Championships in Dubai is more than a competition. It is a global celebration of boxing that highlights skill, culture, and unity. This event will demonstrate the true spirit of our sport.”
The Festival of Boxing in Dubai will provide fans with live action, meet-and-greets with athletes, and unique cultural experiences. It emphasizes IBA’s goal of making boxing a unifying sport, free of political boundaries, and accessible to all nations. The 2025 edition promises world-class competition, stunning performances, and opportunities for every participant to shine on the global stage.
The 2025 IBA Men’s Elite World Championships in Dubai is a historic event set to celebrate excellence, innovation, and unity in boxing. With record prizes, global participation, and a festive environment, it marks a milestone in the sport’s history.
