IDF Reports Tunnel Dismantling in Weekly Military Operations

Post by : Bianca Haleem

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has released a summary of its military operations carried out over the past week, stating that its troops continued to operate simultaneously across multiple fronts to eliminate threats to the State of Israel.

According to the IDF, operations were conducted in the Northern, Southern and Central Commands, alongside continued efforts to strengthen security along Israel's eastern and western borders.

Northern Command: Tunnel Destroyed and Hezbollah Targets Struck

The IDF said its forces remained active inside the Security Zone in the Northern Command to address security threats.

During these operations, troops dismantled an underground terror tunnel located in the village of Majdal Zoun.

The military also stated that the Israeli Air Force carried out four precise strikes after accusing Hezbollah of violating the ceasefire agreement. According to the IDF, the strikes targeted terrorists who posed an immediate threat and hit three Hezbollah command centres.

Southern Command: More Than One Kilometre of Tunnels Dismantled

In the Southern Command, the IDF reported dismantling underground terror tunnels with a combined length of more than one kilometre.

The military said the operations are part of an ongoing effort to locate and destroy additional tunnel routes, with particular attention on the Khan Yunis area.

The IDF also stated that approximately 20 terrorists were struck and eliminated during the week. It said those included individuals involved in rebuilding Hamas' military infrastructure as well as people it identified as having infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7 massacre.

Central Command: Arrests, Weapons and Terror Funds Seized

The IDF said dozens of operations were conducted across Judea and Samaria during the reporting period.

According to the military, more than 60 terror suspects were arrested. The group included suspects accused of planning a terrorist attack, individuals affiliated with the Hamas terrorist organisation, a person suspected of stone-hurling, and others allegedly involved in the possession and trafficking of weapons.

The IDF further reported confiscating approximately 162,000 NIS in what it described as terror funds.

It also said security forces seized five unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), materials used to manufacture explosive devices, incitement materials, ammunition, and several weapons, including pistols and M-16 rifles.

Border Security Operations Continue

The IDF said its troops are continuing operations to prevent smuggling attempts while strengthening defensive measures along Israel's eastern and western borders.
