IFZA, a leading Free Zone for business setup and growth, has opened its first representative office in Shanghai. This marks a major step in its global expansion and demonstrates a strong commitment to the Chinese market.
Launch Event Brings Leaders Together
The launch event was held at the Shanghai Jing’An InterContinental Hotel and was attended by IFZA senior leadership, Chinese officials, UAE representatives, and business leaders. The ceremony included a welcome speech, a ribbon-cutting, a panel on cross-border business, and a media roundtable.
CEO Highlights Shanghai’s Importance
Jochen Knecht, CEO of IFZA, stated that Shanghai is a global hub for commerce and innovation. He emphasized that over 15,500 Chinese companies already operate in the UAE, and the new office will help strengthen these relationships while enabling cross-border business growth.
Connecting Chinese Entrepreneurs with Dubai
IFZA’s Shanghai office will act as a gateway between China and the UAE, offering entrepreneurs easy access to Dubai’s business ecosystem. The office provides support for company incorporation and links to IFZA’s global network of partners.
Strengthening UAE-China Trade Relations
Muhannad Sulaiman Al Naqbi, Consul General of the UAE in Shanghai, noted that IFZA’s presence strengthens trade ties and cooperation between the UAE and China. The initiative opens new pathways for collaboration and mutual economic growth.
Part of IFZA’s Global Strategy
The Shanghai office follows IFZA’s active participation in the World Free Zones Organisation (World FZO) World Congress 2025 in Hainan. This reflects IFZA’s ongoing commitment to fostering global entrepreneurship and international trade partnerships.
Opportunities for Entrepreneurs
The new office will provide Chinese businesses with guidance on regulations, market entry, and company setup in Dubai. Entrepreneurs can leverage IFZA’s resources to expand internationally while tapping into the UAE’s strategic position for trade in the Middle East and beyond.
IFZA aims to continue expanding its global presence to connect business communities across continents. The Shanghai office is expected to enhance business collaborations, promote entrepreneurship, and create new opportunities for companies in China and the UAE.
