India Beat UAE By Nine Wickets In Asia Cup 2025 Group Match

India Beat UAE By Nine Wickets In Asia Cup 2025 Group Match

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

India began their Asia Cup 2025 campaign with a very easy and confident win against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Dubai. The match was played on Wednesday, September 10, at the Dubai International Stadium. India defeated UAE by nine wickets, chasing the small target in less than five overs. This victory gave India a perfect start in Group A, where they will also play against Pakistan and Oman.

UAE Batting Struggles From The Start

The UAE team batted first after India’s captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and decided to bowl. For a moment, it looked like UAE could put up a fight as their openers played some good shots. Captain Muhammad Waseem scored 19 runs, and Alishan Sharafu scored 22 runs. Together, they helped UAE reach 41 runs in the powerplay overs. But after that, everything changed as the Indian bowlers took control.

Kuldeep Yadav’s Magical Spin Bowling

India’s left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav was the star of the match. His clever googly deliveries confused the UAE batters. He picked up four wickets while giving away only seven runs in his spell. His sharp spin made it very difficult for UAE players to stay on the crease. One after another, the middle-order batsmen fell to him. This performance showed Kuldeep’s importance to the team as India prepares for bigger matches in the tournament.

Shivam Dube’s Quick And Deadly Spell

Along with Kuldeep, seamer Shivam Dube also had an outstanding game. He took three wickets and gave away only four runs. Dube’s bowling made sure that UAE could not recover after losing early wickets. He also dismissed lower-order batters very quickly. His short spell was a huge boost for the Indian side and showed that India has strong bowling options even beyond its main fast bowlers.

UAE Post Their Lowest Total Against India

Because of Kuldeep and Dube’s brilliant bowling, UAE could only score 57 runs in 13.1 overs. This became UAE’s lowest T20 International total against India. For India, it was also the lowest score ever conceded by them in T20 internationals. This shows how dominant the Indian bowling attack was in this match.

Suryakumar Yadav’s Confident Captaincy

Suryakumar Yadav, India’s captain, played an important role in this win. He had lost 15 consecutive tosses before this game but finally won this one. His decision to bowl first proved correct, as the Indian bowlers quickly wrapped up the UAE innings. After the game, he said that the team is flexible and can adapt to any situation. His leadership and confidence gave the team a good start in the Asia Cup.

Special Sportsmanship From India

One special moment came when UAE’s Junaid Siddique was dismissed by Sanju Samson’s stumping. Siddique said he got distracted because a rag fell out of Shivam Dube’s pocket while he was bowling. India showed great sportsmanship by recalling him back to bat. However, Siddique could not make any impact and was dismissed again on the next ball by Shivam Dube. This moment showed India’s spirit of fair play even in competitive cricket.

Jasprit Bumrah’s Return To T20I Cricket

Star pacer Jasprit Bumrah returned to T20 International cricket after a long gap. Even though he looked a little rusty, he still managed to bowl his trademark yorker and dismissed Sharafu. His presence in the team is very important, and this match was a good warm-up for him before the tougher games in the tournament.

Abhishek Sharma’s Fast And Aggressive Batting

India’s batting started in attacking style. Young opener Abhishek Sharma played a quickfire innings of 30 runs from just 16 balls. He smashed three sixes and two boundaries, including a massive six over extra cover on the very first ball he faced. His aggressive play during the powerplay made sure India finished the chase quickly. Abhishek showed that he can be a dangerous batter at the top of the order.

Shubman Gill And Captain Finish The Job

After Abhishek got out when India needed just 10 more runs, captain Suryakumar Yadav stepped in. He smashed a six on his very first ball. Shubman Gill, who played a calm and steady knock of 20 runs, hit the winning boundary. India reached the target of 60 runs in only 4.3 overs, losing just one wicket. This easy chase highlighted India’s strong batting depth and ability to dominate weaker teams.

India’s Bowling Strength Shines

The biggest positive from this match was India’s bowling performance. Kuldeep Yadav’s four wickets and Shivam Dube’s three wickets destroyed the UAE batting order. Bumrah’s return added strength to the pace attack. Even though UAE is not a strong team compared to India, the way bowlers used the conditions showed India’s readiness for tougher matches, especially against Pakistan in the group stage.

UAE’s Learning Experience

For the UAE team, this game was a tough lesson. They started well but could not handle India’s spin and pace combination. Their batting collapse showed that they need to improve against quality bowling attacks. Still, playing against big teams like India gives them valuable experience, and they will try to bounce back in the next games of the Asia Cup.

India’s Strong Start In Group A

This nine-wicket win gave India a strong start in Group A. The team will now prepare for its next match against Pakistan, which will be a high-pressure game. India’s easy victory against UAE boosted their confidence, and they will look to carry this momentum forward. With bowlers in great form and batters like Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill showing promise, India looks ready for the challenges ahead.
