Abu Dhabi has proudly revealed the victors of the fourth Kanz Al Jeel Award, a hallmark event honoring Arabic poetry, art, and research. The award ceremony, held under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, took place alongside the Al Ain Book Festival 2025 at Qasr Al Muwaiji.

This award is a recognition of outstanding creativity and cultural heritage preservation, attracting gifted candidates from throughout the Arab region. In the Arts category, Egyptian artist Nagat Soliman received accolades for her textile piece Tears Streamed From My Eyes, celebrated for its detailed embroidery, dyeing, and collage methods that encourage viewers to delve into its profound symbolism.

Kuwaiti poet Hamed Zaid won the Poetic Publications category for his 2025 collection Wa Abqa Jabal, lauded for its compelling voice, adept use of rhetorical techniques, and balance of concise and expansive poetic forms. From Oman, poet Ali Al Harthi shone in the Poetry Matching category with his poem Sada Al Noor, which resonates beautifully with the late Sheikh Zayed’s work Li Sart Min Al Ain Saraya.

In the Studies and Research category, Emirati writer Ali Abualreesh Al Mansoori won for his book Zayed: Poetic Worlds Bound by the Horizon – A Trilogy of Love, Palm, and Desert. This publication delves into vital themes within Sheikh Zayed’s poetry such as ethics, beauty, and peace, providing insight into the cultural importance of Nabati poetry.

The Creative Personality award was bestowed upon Emirati poet Mohammed Rashid Al Shamsi, honored for his decades of contributions to varied poetic forms and his efforts in reviving traditional Emirati performance arts such as Al Razeef. His influence has shaped generations of both poets and performers across the Emirates.

The Kanz Al Jeel Award continues to motivate future generations by marrying tradition with innovative creativity. By honoring poetry, visual arts, and scholarly research, the award enhances the bond between cultural heritage and modern artistic expression, ensuring the vibrant legacy of Nabati poetry endures.
