The third round of the Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship (No-Gi) is set to take place on April 11-12, 2026, at the Zayed Sports Complex in Fujairah. This event, organized by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, brings together leading clubs and academies from across the nation, all vying to enhance their rankings in this year's championship.
On the first day, competitors will participate across categories for Under-12, Under-14, and Under-16 age groups, while the second day will feature Under-18, Adults, and Masters divisions, adhering to the multi-age format.
In contrast to traditional Gi contests, No-Gi matches are characterized by their brisk pace, demanding quick reflexes and adept physical control, presenting unique challenges as athletes progress through increasingly demanding rounds.
Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, spoke about the event's evolution: “Previous rounds showcased strong participation and intense competition. Round 3 will emphasize consistency and adaptability, particularly in No-Gi matches where rapid decision-making and precise execution play crucial roles. It's uplifting to see families rallying behind the athletes, fostering a supportive atmosphere on and off the mat.”
The opening round of this edition, which focused exclusively on No-Gi matches, saw Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club claim the top spot, followed closely by Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club in second place and Palms Sports Academy - Team 777 in third, highlighting the competitive spirit among leading UAE Jiu-Jitsu clubs.
This championship continues to serve as a vital platform for both young and professional athletes, allowing them to display their skills, accrue experiences, and elevate the standards of Jiu-Jitsu within the UAE.
