Today in Jeddah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, led a Cabinet session to review state efforts aimed at building deeper collaboration with friendly nations. The focus on cooperation reflects Saudi Arabia’s growing international role and its Vision 2030 goals.

Strengthening International Partnerships

The session highlighted Saudi Arabia’s commitment to enhancing coordination and alliances in trade, security, culture, and sustainable development. By working with both regional and global partners, Saudi Arabia seeks to strengthen its influence and take advantage of new economic and cultural opportunities.

Engagement in Global Forums

Ministers reviewed outcomes of recent international gatherings, emphasizing how Saudi Arabia continues to partner on global issues. These include climate change, health, economy, and peacebuilding, showing the Kingdom’s increasing involvement in multilateral action to serve shared objectives.

Advancing Digital Cooperation at IT Summit

Saudi participation in the World Summit on the Information Society in Switzerland received special attention. The Kingdom reaffirmed its support for digital partnerships and alignment with International Telecommunication Union goals. The Cabinet emphasized using technology to improve everyday life and ensure global access to communications.

Environmental Leadership on Dust Storm Response

Minister Dr. Essam bin Saeed highlighted Saudi Arabia’s recognition by the UN for its efforts to combat sand and dust storms. The Kingdom’s early warning systems and scientific cooperation at local and global levels received praise. The government reaffirmed its commitment to environmental protection and international collaboration in this field.

Financial and Human Capability Growth Achievements

The Cabinet reviewed progress under the Financial Sector Development Program and Human Capability Development Program, which focus on economic diversification through fintech, banking reform, skills development, and education. These initiatives support stable governance and create a highly skilled workforce aligned with Vision 2030.

Launching AI Curriculum in Schools

A key decision applauded by the Cabinet was the integration of an artificial intelligence curriculum across general education levels. This step aims to equip the next generation with future-ready skills, support the transition to a knowledge-driven society, and reinforce Saudi Arabia’s standing in advanced technology innovation.

Tourism Sector Achieving Global Recognition

Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector was highlighted as a global leader for the first quarter of 2025, in terms of international receipts. This reflects the rapid expansion of tourism infrastructure, international marketing, visa facilitation, and heritage conservation — all contributing to national economic diversification.

Cabinet Decisions: Expanding Regional Cooperation

The Cabinet approved significant agreements to support international collaboration:

  • Financial Cooperation MOU with UAE: Ministers endorsed a new agreement between the Saudi Ministry of Finance and the UAE Ministry of Finance to support economic integration and financial market synergies.
  • Labor Agreements with Somalia: Two pacts on employment of domestic and general workers were approved between the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and Somalia’s Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, standardizing recruitment and worker protections.
  • Logistics Cooperation with Denmark: A logistics services MOU was approved between the Saudi Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services and Denmark’s Ministry of Transport, aimed at improving trade connectivity and transport network efficiencies.
  • Education Assessment Partnership: A cooperation MOU on evaluation and accreditation was signed between the Saudi Education and Training Evaluation Commission and the Arab Administrative Development Organization, enhancing standards for quality and educational governance across member states.

Impact of Cross-Border Economic Agreements

The MoUs with the UAE, Somalia, and Denmark demonstrate Saudi Arabia’s drive to strengthen trade, labor frameworks, transport corridors, and education systems. These agreements build trust, remove barriers, and foster shared prosperity across regions.

Emphasis on Digital Economy and AI Education

By approving AI in schools, Saudi Arabia signals its determination to develop a tech-savvy workforce. Integrating AI aligns with international digital trends and ensures the country can lead in areas such as machine learning, robotics, and data innovation.

Environmental and Health Preparedness

Saudi efforts on dust storm early warning systems show commitment to environmental resilience and public health. Tracking and managing air quality is essential for protecting citizens and agriculture while contributing to wider research cooperation.

Tourism as a Pillar of Diversified Growth

Saudi leadership in tourism underscores the success of destination strategies such as NEOM, the Red Sea Project, and Qiddiya. High tourism receipts support infrastructure, hospitality, and cultural sectors, injecting new revenue and job opportunities into the economy.

Workforce Protections in a Regional Context

Agreements with Somalia on labor movement highlight Saudi Arabia’s efforts to standardize employment rules and provide ethical treatment for migrant workers. This ensures that foreign workers enjoy safe working conditions and contributes to sustainable labor markets.

Quality and Governance in Education

The accreditation MOU with the Arab Administrative Development Organization supports better educational systems by standardizing testing and training. This fosters regional trust in Saudi institutions and builds capacity for workforce development.

Saudi Global Diplomacy in Action

Today’s Cabinet session reinforces Saudi Arabia’s strategy of balanced domestic reform and responsible international engagement. By combining Vision 2030 with diplomatic outreach, Riyadh positions itself as a regional leader and global partner.

Under King Salman’s leadership, the Jeddah Cabinet meeting united economic, technological, educational, and environmental priorities to align with Saudi Vision 2030. By signing key agreements on finance, labor, transport, and education—and by promoting AI, tourism, and sustainability—the Cabinet laid the groundwork for enhanced global partnerships and future-focused development. These measures advance national prosperity while strengthening Saudi Arabia’s global influence.
