Kuwait Arrests 48 Residency and Labour Law Violators in Raid

KUWAIT CITY, Aug. 7: Kuwait's Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Department of Criminal Investigation and the Residence Affairs Investigation Department, carried out a joint inspection campaign in the Shuwaikh Industrial Area in cooperation with the Public Authority for Manpower.

The operation focused on identifying violations of Kuwait's residency and labour laws through inspections and audits of commercial establishments. During the campaign, officials inspected a total of 120 businesses as part of ongoing efforts to detect individuals violating residency and employment regulations.

48 Violators Detained During the Operation

The inspection campaign resulted in the arrest of 48 people found to be in violation of Kuwait's residency and labour laws.

According to the authorities, those arrested included:

  • 9 violators under Article 20 for domestic worker residency violations.
  • 1 absconding case registered under Article 20.
  • 36 violators under Article 18 related to private sector residency violations.
  • 1 Article 18 violator linked to a non-existent company, with an arrest warrant issued in the case.
  • 1 violator under Article 22 for a dependent visa violation.

Legal Action Underway

The Ministry of Interior said all necessary legal and administrative procedures have been completed against those arrested. The individuals will be referred to the competent authorities to face further legal action in accordance with Kuwait's residency and labour regulations.

Inspection Campaigns to Continue

The ministry reaffirmed that inspection campaigns will continue across Kuwait as part of ongoing efforts to enforce residency and labour laws and address violations throughout the country.
