H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, has issued an important administrative decision concerning the formation of a new Board of Directors for the Sharjah Sports Club. The decision reflects Sharjah’s continued commitment to promoting excellence in sports management and ensuring effective leadership in one of its most prestigious clubs.

According to the decision, Mohammed Juma bin Hindi has been appointed as the Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Club’s Board of Directors. His leadership will guide the club through a new term focused on development, teamwork, and sports innovation. Bin Hindi is known for his strong administrative capabilities and passion for sports, which align with the vision of the Emirate to enhance its sporting infrastructure and achievements.

The newly formed board includes a diverse group of professionals with expertise in management, sports, and community development. The members appointed are:

  • Ibrahim Saleh Sambij

  • Ibrahim Mohammed Al Jarwan

  • Rashid Salem Al Bas

  • Suleiman Abdulrahman Abdullah

  • Obaid Saeed Al Shamsi

  • Mohammed Saleh Al Ali

  • Mohammed Abdullah Bourhima

  • Nasser Saeed bin Afsan

These individuals bring a combination of experience, leadership, and a shared commitment to advancing Sharjah’s sports scene.

As per the decision, the Board of Directors will hold its first meeting soon to distribute administrative positions among the members. During this meeting, a Vice Chairman will also be elected either through consensus or by a direct secret ballot. This democratic process reflects the transparency and collaborative spirit that the club strives to maintain in its operations.

The term of the new Board of Directors will last for four years from the date of the decision’s issuance. However, the membership period may be extended for another similar term or multiple terms if deemed necessary. The decision also states that the current board will continue its duties until a new council is formed or until the renewal of the existing one, ensuring stability and continuity in club operations.

The formation of the new board aligns with Sharjah’s broader vision of promoting sports and nurturing local talent. Under the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the emirate has consistently supported sports institutions to enhance their performance and expand their role in community engagement. The decision also emphasizes Sharjah’s efforts to maintain strong governance and encourage a culture of teamwork and sporting excellence.

Sharjah Sports Club, one of the oldest and most successful clubs in the UAE, has played a vital role in developing athletes and promoting sporting values. The new leadership is expected to focus on strengthening the club’s infrastructure, improving its training programs, and supporting youth development initiatives. The board will also look into expanding the club’s community outreach programs and increasing participation in both national and international competitions.

Under the new board, Sharjah Sports Club aims to create an environment that nurtures young athletes and promotes sports innovation. The members are expected to collaborate on strategies that enhance coaching standards, improve facilities, and develop new partnerships that benefit the club and its athletes. Encouraging sports among the younger generation remains one of the top priorities for the Sharjah government.

With the appointment of the new Board of Directors, Sharjah Sports Club enters a fresh phase of leadership and progress. The club’s administration, coaches, and athletes have expressed optimism about the future, hoping to build on past successes and achieve greater milestones in the years to come. The decision marks another step in Sharjah’s ongoing efforts to reinforce its reputation as a leading sports hub in the UAE and the wider region.
