The Sultanate of Oman and the Federal Republic of Germany held the fourth round of political consultations in Berlin to further strengthen their diplomatic relations and cooperation. This important meeting reflects both countries’ commitment to building lasting partnerships and working closely on political, economic, and regional matters.
The Omani delegation was led by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al-Harithi, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs. Representing Germany was Dr. Geza Andreas von Geyr, State Secretary of the Federal Foreign Office. The presence of these senior officials underlined the importance both nations place on maintaining regular dialogue to ensure mutual understanding and strategic collaboration.
During the consultations, both sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation across multiple sectors, including trade, investment, renewable energy, and education. They emphasized the need to expand the horizons of partnership and develop new areas of collaboration that would benefit both nations. The discussions also covered opportunities for private sector engagement and cultural exchange between Oman and Germany.
In addition to bilateral matters, the meeting provided a platform to exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual concern. Both sides shared their perspectives on developments in the Middle East, Europe, and other regions, highlighting the importance of maintaining peace, stability, and cooperation through diplomatic dialogue. The session was attended by Ambassador Munther Mahfoudh Al Manthri, Head of the Europe Department at Oman’s Foreign Ministry, Maitha Saif Al Mahrouqi, Ambassador of Oman to Germany, along with several officials from both countries. Their presence reflected the depth of institutional cooperation and the importance of maintaining strong diplomatic coordination between Muscat and Berlin.
Both countries expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of the consultations and agreed to continue their dialogue in future rounds. The discussions reaffirmed the shared vision of Oman and Germany to strengthen their strategic partnership, promote mutual prosperity, and work together to address pressing global issues.
