Oman Customs Seizes 1.7 kg Crystal Meth Hidden in Postal Parcel

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Oman Customs has successfully prevented an attempt to smuggle 1.7 kilograms of crystal meth into the country after officers intercepted a suspicious postal parcel during a routine customs inspection.

According to the authorities, the parcel attracted the attention of customs officials during regular screening procedures. A detailed examination was carried out, leading officers to uncover a large quantity of crystal meth that had been carefully concealed inside a metal canister. The concealment method appeared to be designed to avoid detection during standard security checks.

Following the discovery, customs officials immediately seized the illegal narcotics and secured the shipment as evidence. The confiscation prevented the drugs from entering the country and ensured that the smuggling attempt was stopped before the parcel reached its intended destination.

After the seizure, Oman Customs initiated the necessary legal procedures against those believed to be connected to the smuggling operation. The case has now been referred for further legal action in accordance with the applicable procedures.

The successful interception highlights the continued vigilance of Oman Customs during routine inspections of postal shipments. By identifying suspicious parcels and carrying out thorough examinations, customs officers continue to play an important role in preventing the illegal movement of narcotics and enforcing customs regulations.
