Oman Opens Key Summit on Diabetes and Hormone Health 2025

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

The Oman Summit for Diabetes and Endocrine Across the Lifespan 2025 started today in Muscat Governorate. The event was opened under the patronage of HH Sayyida Dr. Mona Fahad Al Said, Assistant Vice-Chancellor for External Cooperation at Sultan Qaboos University. The summit brings together specialists in diabetology, obesity, and hormone-related diseases, featuring 22 international experts who will deliver scientific papers and lectures over two days.

Sayyida Dr. Noor Badr Al Busaidi, Chairperson of the Oman Diabetes Association, said the summit serves as an important scientific platform that helps improve care for people living with diabetes, obesity, and endocrine disorders in Oman. She explained that the conference is the result of strong cooperation between the Oman Diabetes Association, the Ministry of Health, and the National Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology, showing how civil society and government health institutions can work together effectively.

She added that the event aims to build national skills, support cooperation between different sectors, and raise the level of medical care by bringing together doctors, researchers, policymakers, and health officials in one place. The summit covers several major topics, including diabetes technologies, hormone disorders in children and adults, obesity medicine, metabolic bone health, thyroid diseases, and pituitary and adrenal conditions. It also highlights the latest updates in precision medicine.

The program includes four practical workshops focusing on important skills such as diabetic foot care, continuous glucose monitoring, carbohydrate counting, and insulin pump therapy. These workshops aim to improve participants’ hands-on abilities according to global standards. The summit is arranged in two parallel scientific tracks—adult medicine and pediatrics—to review the latest clinical practices and research related to diabetes and metabolic health across all age groups.
