A devastating fire at a residence on Vancouver Island has tragically resulted in one life lost and another individual suffering severe injuries, leading to an active investigation by local officials.
Emergency responders, comprising police and firefighters, arrived at the scene in Sooke, situated to the west of Victoria, at around 5:21 a.m. on Sunday. Upon reaching the location, they discovered a single-family home engulfed in flames.
As confirmed by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), one person was declared dead at the scene. Another individual was rescued and subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries, where their recovery is being closely monitored.

Brett Urano referred to it as a “heart-wrenching and challenging scenario,” offering heartfelt condolences to the grieving family and community members affected by this loss.
