Qatar Airways has officially resumed its flight services to Malta from July 2, 2025. The airline will now operate four direct flights every week between Hamad International Airport in Doha (DOH) and Malta International Airport (MLA). This move marks another important step in Qatar Airways' efforts to reconnect more parts of the world and strengthen its presence in Europe.
With this addition, Malta joins the airline’s wide European network, which already includes almost 50 destinations. The airline’s return to Malta also shows its commitment to offering better travel options for passengers and supporting tourism and business between the two countries.
Malta is a small yet beautiful island country in the Mediterranean, famous for its capital city Valletta, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We’re the only airline from the Middle East that offers non-stop flights to Malta, and this helps us provide smooth and convenient travel for passengers. Whether it's for leisure or business, travellers can now enjoy the beauty and charm of Malta with ease. We invite everyone to travel with us through our award-winning Hamad International Airport.”
Alan Borg, CEO of Malta International Airport, also welcomed the airline's return. He said, “Having Qatar Airways back is a great boost to our flight schedule. It shows how strong and flexible the aviation industry is. We look forward to working together to help Qatar Airways grow its presence in the region.”
The CEO of Malta Tourism Authority, Carlo Micallef, also expressed his support for the resumed route. “We’re glad to see Qatar Airways flying directly to Malta again. This is a clear sign that Malta is being recognized for its tourism appeal. The new flights will open more doors for tourists from many countries.
