Dubai Duty Free has celebrated its most successful month in 42 years, with sales in November 2025 hitting AED876.56 million (US$240.16 million). This remarkable feat represents a 16.77% increase compared to November last year and surpasses the previous monthly record from December 2024. The average daily sales reached AED29.21 million (US$8 million), marking the retailer's peak performance to date.
The sales surge was evident throughout the month, with November 29th registering AED37.55 million (US$10.28 million), the highest single-day sales for the year. By mid-November, the year-to-date revenue for Dubai Duty Free had exceeded US$2 billion—another unprecedented achievement in its decades-long history. Currently, YTD sales are at AED7.75 billion (US$2.13 billion), showing a 9.57% increase from the previous year and tracking 10% ahead of projected passenger growth.
Sales patterns revealed robust activity across all spending brackets. Purchases under AED500 surged both in volume and contribution, accounting for a quarter of total sales, while transactions over AED500 made up 75% of total sales, driven by an increase in frequency and overall spend.
Perfumes led the sales charts, contributing AED160.58 million (US$44 million), fueled by exclusive launches. Liquor and Gold also enjoyed positive growth, while Tobacco saw double-digit increases, thanks to rising demand for heat-not-burn products.
Confectionery marked one of the most significant increases, soaring 42.93% to an all-time high of AED83.29 million (US$22.82 million), with the “Dubai Chocolate” range accounting for nearly 43% of this category's income. The unique Patchi Pistachio Kunafa Bar—available exclusively at Dubai Duty Free—was particularly popular, with over 223,000 units sold in November.
Electronics also excelled, bolstered by iPhone 17 sales exceeding AED26.73 million (US$7.32 million) and over 5,200 units sold.
The Luxury Fashion segment thrived, posting a 40.32% increase for the month. The new Louis Vuitton and Cartier boutiques in Concourse A fueled this momentum, while established luxury retailers in Concourse B continued to perform strongly.
Sales performance was consistent across terminals. Concourse A saw nearly 38% growth, Arrivals increased by 14%, and Departures at Al Maktoum International Airport surged by almost 47%. International travelers bound for Europe, Russia, Africa, and the Americas were among the top spenders, averaging purchases above AED800.
Operationally, the month was equally significant. On November 30th, Dubai Duty Free recorded a historic handling of 1,057 pallets in a single day, featuring 12,000 distinct items and over 650,000 pieces—catering to the heightened demand during the National Day holiday period.
As the festive season approaches, the operation is gearing up for another wave of travel, alongside preparations for its 42nd anniversary celebrations on December 20th, featuring special promotions and discounts across all terminals.
