Inauguration of the Royal Cars Exhibition at Oman Across Ages Museum

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

The Royal Cars Exhibition has officially commenced today at the Oman Across Ages Museum. Organized in collaboration with the Royal Cars Museum, the event is held with the patronage of Sheikh Hilal bin Said Al Hajri, Governor of A’Dakhiliyah. This exhibition presents an opportunity for attendees to discover the history and importance of royal vehicles in Oman.

Eng. Al Yaqdhan Abdullah Al Harthy, Director General of the Oman Across Ages Museum, noted that the exhibition features an impressive array of classic, luxury, and sports royal cars. These vehicles are not only significant to Oman’s past but also hold a national importance. They were chosen for their rarity and historical relevance.

Al Harthy pointed out the museum's aim is to offer a dynamic and interactive experience for all visitors. By displaying these vehicles, the exhibition assists people in appreciating the cultural and historical relevance of such historic automobiles. He expressed gratitude for the partnership between the Oman Across Ages Museum and the Royal Cars Museum that made this initiative possible.

Yasser Abdulaziz Al Farsi, Head of the Royal Cars Museum Department, mentioned that the exhibition aims to familiarize visitors with the distinct and rare cars housed at the Royal Cars Museum. Some displayed vehicles were custom-made with unique specifications. Notably, seven cars are showcased for the first time, including a Morgan manufactured in 1957, underscoring the uniqueness of the collection.

This exhibition marks a groundbreaking effort to allow the public to get a closer look at these royal cars. Guests can explore the various types, specifications, and historical journeys of the vehicles without needing to visit the Al Barakah Palace, where many are typically stored. This initiative strengthens community ties to Oman’s royal heritage.

The Royal Cars Exhibition will be accessible until December 9. The museum opens daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, allowing visitors to explore during the National Day holiday. This exhibition is anticipated to draw significant crowds eager to view luxury and rare royal automobiles in one venue.

This exhibition stands as a vital event that underscores Oman’s royal legacy through its automotive history. By featuring historic, classic, and bespoke vehicles, the Royal Cars Exhibition offers a unique and engaging experience suitable for visitors of all ages. The collaboration between the Oman Across Ages Museum and the Royal Cars Museum ensures that these valuable cultural treasures are available for public enjoyment and education.
