Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Majed Al-Hogail, is visiting Beijing to strengthen Saudi-Chinese partnerships in housing and urban development. The visit aims to support Saudi Arabia’s plan to implement 100,000 housing units by 2030, in line with Vision 2030 objectives.
During the two-day official visit, discussions are centered on promoting sustainable urban growth, developing smart cities, and expanding cooperation in infrastructure projects. These efforts aim to increase housing supply, improve city planning, and achieve a balanced real estate market across the Kingdom.
The minister is holding meetings with leaders of major Chinese firms to explore industrial construction, modern building technologies, and knowledge exchange. These discussions focus on accelerating housing projects, enhancing operational efficiency, and integrating advanced construction techniques in Saudi Arabia.
Key agenda items include expanding industrial and investment partnerships in supply chains and localizing industrial production. This approach is designed to boost the sustainability of the real estate market, create investment opportunities, generate jobs in housing, and support the broader economic development goals of Vision 2030.
The visit includes signing agreements and memoranda with NHC Innovation, ByteDance, and other leading Chinese firms. The focus areas include real estate development, smart city solutions, and the application of artificial intelligence in municipal and residential services to enhance urban living.
Under Minister Al-Hogail’s guidance, the National Housing Company (NHC) will launch the SupplyPro initiative to manage supply chains and mitigate construction material price fluctuations. This program aims to protect the private sector and citizens from rising costs while promoting local content and advanced technology adoption.
This visit builds on previous Saudi-Chinese collaborations that contributed to delivering over 8,000 housing units and transferring advanced construction and logistics technologies. The trip reinforces the long-term partnership between the two nations, emphasizing knowledge exchange, innovation, and sustainable development in housing.
