The Saudi Falcons Club has officially announced its event schedule for 2025, bringing together falconers, hunters, and lovers of traditional Saudi heritage. This exciting lineup includes six major events, which will take place over a span of 122 days across various locations in Saudi Arabia. The heart of the action will be the club’s headquarters in Malham, located north of Riyadh, but events will also be held in other parts of the Kingdom.
The events are designed to celebrate and preserve falconry — an ancient and highly respected part of Saudi and Arab culture — and will provide a platform for local and international falconers to connect, compete, trade, and share knowledge. The events are not only aimed at professionals but also at families, tourists, and anyone interested in learning more about this traditional sport and the lifestyle that surrounds it.
Let’s walk through the events, one by one:
1. International Falcon Breeders Auction (August 5–25, 2025)
The 2025 season will begin with the International Falcon Breeders Auction, which will take place from August 5 to August 25. This event will bring together top falcon breeders from both Saudi Arabia and around the world.
During this event, high-quality falcons bred by specialized falcon farms will be showcased and auctioned. Buyers will have the opportunity to see and purchase some of the best falcons available, known for their strength, beauty, and hunting abilities.
This auction not only helps promote ethical and regulated falcon breeding but also gives falconers a trusted place to invest in premium birds. It’s an exciting event for both professional falconers and those looking to get started in the tradition.
2. Saudi Falcons Club Auction (October 1–November 30, 2025)
Following the breeders’ auction, the Saudi Falcons Club Auction will take place over two months — from October 1 to November 30.
This event is a major opportunity for local falconers to showcase their top falcons. These birds, often trained and prepared for months or even years, are sold to other falconers looking for strong and competitive additions to their collection.
It is more than just a market — it’s also a reliable economic platform for falconers. Many rely on these auctions to earn a living or fund future breeding and training programs.
This auction is considered one of the most important events in the local falconry scene and draws interest from all over the Kingdom.
3. International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition (October 2–11, 2025)
Running almost at the same time as the Falcons Club Auction, this exhibition will take place from October 2 to October 11.
This is the biggest event of its kind in the entire region, attracting exhibitors and visitors from inside and outside Saudi Arabia.
The exhibition will have a wide range of booths and displays featuring equipment, gear, and tools related to:
One of the most notable aspects of this exhibition is that it’s the only place in Saudi Arabia where people can legally purchase hunting weapons under strict supervision and regulations.
Visitors can expect to see the latest technology and products in the world of falconry and outdoor sports. It’s a perfect place for families, hobbyists, and professionals to explore and enjoy.
4. Melwah Racing Competition (October 5–10, 2025)
Held during the same period as the exhibition, the Melwah Racing event will take place from October 5 to October 10.
This event is all about speed and accuracy. Falcons are released and timed as they race toward their trainers, often covering long distances at high speeds.
This competition draws top falconers from all across Saudi Arabia and even other countries.
It is one of the most exciting falconry competitions of the year, as it shows off the incredible skills of the birds and the deep connection between falcon and trainer. The thrill of the race makes it a favorite among spectators and participants alike.
5. Falcons Club Cup Championship (November 23–30, 2025)
As the end of November approaches, the Falcons Club Cup Championship will be held from November 23 to November 30.
This championship is where the best of the best falcons compete in a series of high-level challenges. The competition is fierce, and only the most skilled falcons and trainers make it to the finals.
It’s a week-long showcase of talent, training, and tradition. Winning this championship is a huge honor and adds great value and reputation to both the falcon and its owner.
This event highlights the seriousness and prestige of falconry as a competitive sport in Saudi Arabia.
6. King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival (December 25, 2025 – January 10, 2026)
The biggest and final event of the season is the King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival, which will take place from December 25, 2025, to January 10, 2026 at the Malham headquarters.
This is the world’s largest falconry event, and it is expected to attract thousands of participants and visitors, not just from the Gulf region but from across the globe.
The festival features a wide range of competitions, cultural activities, and exhibitions. It is more than just a falconry competition — it is a celebration of heritage, history, and community.
