Saudi Official Attends GCC Islamic Affairs Ministers Meeting

On behalf of the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh, the Ministry for Islamic Affairs Undersecretary, Sheikh Dr. Awad bin Sabti Al-Anzi, attended the 11th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) ministers of Islamic affairs and endowments. The meeting was held in Kuwait on Monday, bringing together senior officials from GCC member states to discuss collaboration in religious and charitable matters.

Focus on Cooperation in Islamic Affairs

The meeting addressed a wide range of topics aimed at enhancing cooperation between GCC countries in the field of Islamic affairs. Officials discussed best practices in managing religious endowments, coordinating Dawah activities, and promoting the principles of moderation and balance across the Gulf region.

Promoting Values of Moderation and Balance

A central theme of the discussions was the promotion of moderation and balance in religious practices. Participants emphasized the importance of fostering unity and understanding among communities, highlighting the role of Islamic affairs ministries in guiding societal values and supporting educational and charitable programs.

Collective Action Among GCC States

The meeting underscored the need for coordinated efforts among GCC member states in religious and charitable initiatives. Officials agreed on the benefits of collective action, including the development of joint projects, sharing expertise, and enhancing the effectiveness of Islamic endowment management across the Gulf region.

Supporting Gulf Leadership Goals

The discussions reflected the broader objectives of GCC leadership to achieve greater integration and cooperation among member states. By aligning policies and initiatives in Islamic affairs, the GCC aims to strengthen regional unity and support the social, cultural, and religious development of its peoples.

Sheikh Dr. Awad bin Sabti Al-Anzi’s participation highlights Saudi Arabia’s commitment to regional collaboration in religious and charitable sectors. The Kingdom continues to play a leading role in coordinating efforts, sharing expertise, and supporting initiatives that strengthen Islamic values and social cohesion in the Gulf.

The GCC ministers concluded the meeting with a renewed commitment to ongoing collaboration and the implementation of joint initiatives. These include coordinated programs in Dawah, charitable activities, and the management of endowments to ensure sustainable development and alignment with the aspirations of GCC leaders and citizens.
