Shaikha Nasser Al Nuaimi, the Secretary-General-elect of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) for the 2026–2029 term, took part in VivaTech 2025—a major global event for startups and leaders focused on innovation. The event ended two days ago and saw strong international participation from decision-makers, business leaders, and pioneers in innovation.

Al Nuaimi visited the UAE Pavilion at the exhibition to look at significant initiatives and cutting-edge technologies displayed by small and medium-sized Emirati businesses, especially those in the travel and tourism sector. She appreciated these companies' efforts to offer helpful community solutions and praised the digital products and services they have created.

While meeting with Emirati entrepreneurs, Al Nuaimi stressed the need to adopt and adapt advanced technologies and artificial intelligence in the development of hotel services and tourist destinations. She said technology now plays a major role in delivering unique travel experiences, improving service quality for visitors, and increasing the competitiveness of the tourism industry.

She also visited a number of booths run by foreign businesses that specialize in cutting-edge technology, artificial intelligence, and digital breakthroughs. She investigated the newest technologies and approaches that are influencing the direction of smart tourism and the digital economy.
