Under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region, attended the 45th graduation ceremony of the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). The ceremony was held at the university’s campus in Al Ain, marking another milestone in UAEU’s history of academic excellence and service to the nation.

The ceremony began with the playing of the UAE National Anthem, followed by a short film that highlighted the academic journey of the graduates. The film showcased their achievements, aspirations, and hopes to contribute meaningfully to the UAE’s future progress. This was followed by a keynote address by Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to the UAE President and Chancellor of UAEU, who emphasized the university’s commitment to preparing a generation capable of leading in all fields.

A highlight of the event was the speech delivered by graduate Hamad Al Aryani from the College of Engineering, who represented his peers by expressing gratitude to the leadership, faculty, and families for their constant support. Graduates from the College of Medicine and Health Sciences also took a professional medical oath before His Highness, promising to uphold ethical and professional standards in their medical careers.

His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulated the graduates, their families, and the university administration on this proud achievement. He expressed appreciation for the university’s ongoing efforts in nurturing excellence and preparing young Emiratis to lead the country’s development. Sheikh Hazza urged graduates to apply their skills and knowledge to contribute actively to national innovation, scientific progress, and economic growth.

Sheikh Hazza highlighted that investing in the development of national talent remains a key priority for the UAE’s leadership. He noted that the graduation of a new class of students from UAEU reflects the country’s vision to build a generation equipped with knowledge and empowered to drive sustainable growth. He emphasized that such efforts are central to building a knowledge-based economy capable of competing globally.

The event was attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, senior officials, distinguished guests, faculty members, and proud families of the graduates. Their presence reflected the deep respect and importance placed on education in the UAE, as well as the shared joy in celebrating the achievements of the young scholars.

In his keynote speech, Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh stated that the graduation of UAEU’s 45th cohort symbolizes the continuation of a legacy of human development established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He reaffirmed that investing in education remains the foundation for the UAE’s progress and long-term prosperity. He added that UAEU continues to play a vital role in preparing skilled professionals who will help the country achieve its national goals.

Nusseibeh also underlined that UAEU has evolved into a national platform for innovation, creativity, and research. The university addresses key global and national challenges in areas such as climate change, energy, food and water security, and artificial intelligence. He emphasized that, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAEU is strengthening its academic and research infrastructure to meet future demands.

Nusseibeh praised the unwavering support of the UAE’s leadership, which continues to ensure that UAEU maintains its position as a leading national institution of learning. He noted that this support enables the university to develop a new generation of researchers and innovators who will shape the UAE’s sustainable and knowledge-driven future. He congratulated the graduates and their families on their accomplishments, encouraging them to carry forward the university’s values in their professional paths.

This year’s 45th graduating class includes 2,430 students from various disciplines. Among them, 544 students achieved honours with distinction and were recognized during the ceremony. The remaining 1,886 graduates will be honoured in two sessions — morning and evening — scheduled for October 25, 2025. This large and diverse graduating class reflects the continued success of UAEU’s mission to empower students with knowledge and skills for national advancement.

The 45th UAEU graduation ceremony stood as a symbol of the UAE’s commitment to education, innovation, and youth empowerment. Under the guidance of the nation’s leadership, institutions like UAEU continue to serve as engines of progress, nurturing minds that will build the country’s sustainable and competitive future.
