Ajman Ruler Meets Awqaf Dubai to Support Endowment Work

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, received a delegation from the Endowments and Minors’ Trust Foundation (Awqaf Dubai) at the Ruler’s Court. The delegation was led by Essa Al Ghurair, Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Directors. The meeting was also attended by H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Ajman Executive Council. The gathering focused on strengthening cooperation between Ajman and Awqaf Dubai to promote sustainable and innovative endowment initiatives across the UAE.

In his remarks, Sheikh Humaid stressed that endowment projects form one of the main pillars of social development in the UAE. These projects, he said, play a crucial role in supporting education, healthcare, social care, and other essential community sectors. The Ruler of Ajman praised the UAE’s national vision that integrates generosity and solidarity into development, ensuring that social welfare remains a key part of the country’s progress.

Sheikh Humaid highlighted that the UAE’s approach to endowment work has evolved into a global example admired across the Islamic world. This success is due to the nation’s leadership, which has transformed charitable giving into a structured and sustainable system that benefits generations to come. The UAE’s model now serves as a benchmark for how endowments can effectively contribute to human development and social responsibility.

The Ruler of Ajman praised the Dubai Endowments and Minors’ Funds Management Foundation for its creative and sustainable projects. He commended the Foundation’s efforts in empowering humanitarian work and ensuring that endowment revenues directly support charitable causes. These projects, he noted, reflect Dubai’s innovative spirit and its dedication to finding practical solutions for community needs through responsible investment and modern management of endowment resources.

Sheikh Humaid acknowledged that Awqaf Dubai continues to lead efforts in promoting a culture of endowment across the UAE. Through public awareness campaigns, educational programs, and innovative initiatives, the foundation has successfully highlighted the importance of endowment in achieving sustainable social progress. These efforts, he said, have helped the UAE establish a strong foundation for endowment-based community development, aligning with the nation’s humanitarian and developmental goals.

During the meeting, the delegation from Awqaf Dubai presented a detailed overview of the foundation’s ongoing endowment projects and their impact. The presentation showcased several programs supporting education and healthcare. Many of these initiatives provide scholarships and educational assistance to students while also funding medical treatments and aid for hundreds of patients in need. The Ruler of Ajman praised the foundation’s commitment to sustainable giving and its dedication to empowering communities through targeted, long-term projects.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Sheikh Humaid received the “Dubai Endowment Sign”, awarded by the Mohammed bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy, a part of Dubai Endowments. The Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Foundation earned this recognition for its active role in supporting both traditional and modern endowment projects. The award highlights the foundation’s contribution to the UAE’s vision of promoting social responsibility and innovation in philanthropy. Sheikh Humaid expressed his gratitude for the honor and reaffirmed Ajman’s commitment to expanding sustainable endowment initiatives.

H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, praised Awqaf Dubai’s achievements and leadership in developing the endowment system across the UAE. He noted that its pioneering role has advanced and diversified charitable work to reach more people in different sectors of society. Sheikh Ammar emphasized that cooperation between national institutions strengthens the concept of federal integration, supporting the UAE’s broader vision of building a cohesive, compassionate, and united society.

Both leaders agreed that the continued growth of endowment initiatives reflects the UAE’s commitment to social solidarity and collective welfare. They highlighted that partnerships between foundations and government entities are vital for ensuring that endowment projects remain impactful and sustainable. By combining traditional values with modern management, the UAE continues to transform charitable giving into a key driver of national progress.

The meeting between Sheikh Humaid and the Awqaf Dubai delegation underscored the shared vision of creating a sustainable and inclusive future through endowment-based development. By honoring innovation, cooperation, and generosity, Ajman and Dubai reaffirm their roles in advancing the UAE’s humanitarian mission. The event not only celebrated existing achievements but also set the stage for new collaborations that will further strengthen the nation’s culture of giving and social responsibility.
