His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, recently visited the Unmanned Aerial Systems Centre (UASC) at the Dubai Police Headquarters. The purpose of the visit was to learn more about how the Dubai Police are using drone technology to make the city safer and respond faster to emergencies.
Sheikh Mansoor was welcomed by His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police. He was also greeted by Major General Ahmad Zaal bin Kreshan Al Muhairi, who oversees Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Major General Hareb Al Shamsi, in charge of Criminal Investigation Affairs. Several other high-ranking officers and officials were also present.
During the visit, Sheikh Mansoor praised Dubai Police for their hard work and for always looking for better ways to do their job. He appreciated their use of modern tools and their focus on smart technology to improve safety for everyone in Dubai — including citizens, residents, and tourists. He said their efforts are helping Dubai move closer to its goal of becoming the best city in the world to live, work, and visit.
Sheikh Mansoor was shown how the UASC is ready to handle both traffic and crime-related reports using advanced systems. He was also briefed on how Dubai Police work closely with different departments and stations across the city to make security efforts stronger and more efficient. The police also team up with strategic partners to help make Dubai the safest city in the world.
One of the highlights of the tour was a visit to the operations room at the UASC. There, Sheikh Mansoor saw the “Drone Box” system in action. This special system allows drones to be quickly sent to the location of an incident. The drones send live video and data back to the Command and Control Centre, which helps police officers respond much faster.
He also looked at systems that help monitor drones flying in Dubai — both those that are licensed and those that are not. Special tools are also used for field missions and tactical operations, all aimed at making the city safer.
At the end of the visit, Sheikh Mansoor joined the UASC team for a group photo to remember the occasion.
This visit highlights how Dubai Police are using smart technology and teamwork to keep the city safe and secure for everyone.
