Sheikha Latifa Supports Dubai's Creative Community at Design Week

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Dubai's vibrant creative scene blossomed as Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chair of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, engaged with artisans, rising entrepreneurs, and small project owners during Dubai Design Week. Her visit underscored the city’s robust support for its dynamic creative community and its significant role in establishing Dubai as a premier hub for design and innovation.

Throughout her visit, Sheikha Latifa conversed with participants, exploring their personal stories, inspirations, and obstacles in transforming creative ideas into successful enterprises. She commended their originality and determination, highlighting how passion and persistence have led to flourishing businesses.

She reiterated that Dubai will always offer opportunities, welcoming global talent and empowering creators to pursue their dreams. Her encouragement reflects the city’s vision of enhancing its status as an international centre for creativity, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

As a highlight of Dubai Design Week, The Marketplace showcased over 90 local and regional brands featuring a diverse array of homeware, jewellery, fashion, and eco-friendly lifestyle products. This vibrant open-air event merged design, gastronomy, live performances, and family-friendly activities, enriching the visitor experience.

In collaboration with Dubai Culture, The Marketplace highlights the success of the Dubai Cultural Grant programme, which annually supports ten emerging Emirati businesses, continuing to foster innovation and sustainability in the city's creative industries.

As it has evolved, Dubai Design Week serves as a vital platform for the design industry, promoting mentorship, development, and commercial opportunities. This event celebrates artistic brilliance while reinforcing Dubai’s commitment to nurturing creativity as a catalyst for economic and cultural advancement.
