Showcasing UAE's Artistry at Creative Expressions

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Abu Dhabi is celebrating creativity with the launch of ‘Creative Expressions’, an exhibition that runs until 9th January 2026 at the National Theatre and Abu Dhabi Cultural Centre. This event puts a spotlight on remarkable works from artists supported by the Ministry of Culture, offering a unique view into the dynamic creative ecosystem of the UAE.

The showcase gathers artists from the National Grant Programme for Culture and Creativity, those involved in the Creative Market Programme, and participants of the artist-in-residence initiative. Visitors can expect a diverse array of artistic forms, including literature, visual arts, performing arts, film, design, music, and video games.

What distinguishes Creative Expressions is its focus on the artists' creative journeys. Visitors are encouraged to uncover the milestones, challenges, and inspirations that have influenced the showcased artists. With interactive sessions, attendees can engage with creators to learn about their career paths, exemplifying the Ministry’s dedication to fostering local and resident talent.

Among the featured artists are Emirati and resident talents such as Azza Al Qubaisi, Ahmed Emad, Hessa Al Zaabi, Tala Hammoud Atrouni, Sara Al Rumaithi, Samia Saleh, and Mohamed Dardiri. Together, they embody the rich tapestry of voices that define the UAE’s cultural and artistic innovation.

Creative Expressions also highlights the Ministry’s extensive support network, from production grants to capacity-building programs and promotional efforts. This exhibition illustrates the tangible results of such initiatives and how they have nurtured the nation's cultural and creative economy.

For attendees, this exhibition transcends mere artwork display; it is an engaging exploration of creativity, illustrating how local and resident artists continually reshape the UAE's artistic territory and inspire innovation across diverse mediums.
