The Third Arab Forum on Digital Change to Improve Public Services

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

The Third Arab Forum for Digital Transformation in Institutions began on Monday in Cairo, Egypt’s capital city. This event is a chance for leaders and experts from Arab countries to talk about how technology can make public services better. The forum will last for three days and is organized by the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO), which is part of the Arab League. The Libyan Institute of Management is also working together with ARADO to hold this important event.

Focus on Digital Change to Improve Public Services

The forum will cover many important topics about using digital tools and ideas in government institutions. One key topic is how to use new technology to make public services faster, easier, and better for citizens. The forum will also discuss the role of data and artificial intelligence in improving how institutions work. Other subjects include challenges in digital governance and how to solve them, how to mix technology with the culture inside organizations, and ways to train people to be good at digital skills.

Digital Transformation as a Strategic Choice

In his opening speech, Dr. Nasser Al Hatlan Al Qahtani, the Director General of ARADO, said that digital transformation is no longer just an option but a necessary choice. He explained that using digital tools and technologies is very important to make work more efficient and competitive. Digital transformation is about changing how things are done in institutions to improve the services people receive.

Changing How Services Are Delivered

Dr. Al Qahtani emphasized that digital transformation should bring real and deep changes in how public services are delivered. This means using technology not just to make small improvements but to completely change service delivery to meet the needs of citizens better. The goal is to make people’s lives easier and improve the quality of life by providing services in a smart and quick way.

Balancing Technology and Culture

The Director General said it is important to use advanced strategies that balance the use of modern technology with building a culture of innovation inside institutions. Innovation means coming up with new and better ways to work. It also means creating an environment where ideas and knowledge are shared and used to improve services. Using data well is a key part of this culture because data can help institutions make smart decisions.

Reengineering Organizational Processes

Digital transformation is not just about technology; it is also about changing the way institutions work. Dr. Al Qahtani explained that this involves reengineering organizational processes. This means reviewing and redesigning how tasks and services are done to make them more efficient and useful for the people who benefit from them. The aim is to make the experience better for everyone who uses the services.

Encouraging Innovation and Efficiency

One of the main goals of digital transformation is to encourage innovation. Innovation helps institutions find new solutions to old problems. It also helps increase the efficiency of operations, meaning that work gets done faster and with fewer mistakes. Digital tools can help employees do their jobs better and help citizens get services without unnecessary delays.

The Role of Artificial Intelligence and Data

The forum will talk a lot about the role of artificial intelligence (AI) and data. AI can help institutions analyze large amounts of data quickly and make decisions based on that information. This can improve service quality and speed. Data also helps institutions understand what citizens need and how to serve them better.

Training and Empowering People

Another important focus of the forum is on people. Digital transformation needs skilled workers who know how to use new tools and technologies. The forum will discuss strategies to empower and train workers with digital skills. This will help institutions perform better and keep up with rapid changes in technology.

Institutional Culture and Digital Opportunities

The culture inside an institution plays a big role in digital transformation. The forum will explore how a positive and open culture can help institutions find new opportunities for digital change. When people in an organization are ready to accept change and learn new skills, digital transformation is more successful.

The Forum as a Platform for Knowledge Sharing

The Third Arab Forum is a platform where experts, officials, and workers from many Arab countries can share their experiences and knowledge about digital transformation. They can learn from each other about what works and what challenges exist. This will help all the countries improve their public services using digital tools.

Supporting the Goals of Arab Countries

The forum supports the wider goals of Arab countries to modernize their public sectors. Many countries have plans to use technology to make government services more efficient, transparent, and accessible. The discussions in this forum will help these countries plan better strategies and take practical steps toward achieving their goals.

Moving Toward a Digital Future

The Third Arab Forum for Digital Transformation shows how important digital change is for the future of public services in Arab countries. By combining technology, innovation, skilled people, and a good culture, institutions can improve their services and meet the needs of citizens better than before. This forum is an important step toward a digital future that benefits everyone.
