TRENDS Signs MoU with Ce.S.I. to Boost Research Cooperation

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

TRENDS Research and Advisory signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Italian Centre for International Studies (Ce.S.I.) to strengthen collaboration in research, economic studies, advisory services, and knowledge exchange. The agreement marks a step toward enhancing joint efforts between the Middle East and Europe.

Discussions with IAI Experts on Global Challenges

Through its virtual office in Italy, TRENDS held discussions with experts from the Italian Institute for International Affairs (IAI). The talks focused on strengthening cooperation, producing research promoting tolerance and coexistence, and reviewing developments in the Middle East and Europe, particularly the agreement to end the war in Gaza.

MoU Ceremony at Ce.S.I. Headquarters

The signing ceremony took place at Ce.S.I. headquarters in Rome, attended by analysts, researchers, and experts from both sides. The MoU establishes a framework for long-term collaboration, including joint studies on global events, peacebuilding, and geopolitical developments. It also covers organizing conferences, symposiums, and workshops to encourage intellectual dialogue.

TRENDS’ Vision for Global Academic Collaboration

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, highlighted that the partnership aligns with TRENDS’ vision to expand international cooperation. He emphasized that the collaboration goes beyond research production, aiming to develop shared perspectives on challenges facing the Middle East and Europe in a rapidly changing world.

Strategic Dialogue with Italian Institutions

Al-Ali stressed the importance of strategic dialogue with the Italian Institute for International Affairs. These intellectual engagements help unify efforts in conducting research, organizing scientific events, and exchanging expertise to support stability, peace, and sustainable development in both regions.

Ce.S.I. Welcomes Expanded Research Horizons

Professor Andrea Margelletti, President of Ce.S.I., called the MoU an important step toward broadening research in the Middle East and Europe. He noted that understanding regional and international connections requires scientific partnerships to produce realistic and actionable insights.

IAI Supports Knowledge-Based Collaboration

Michele Valensise, President of IAI, reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to the partnership with TRENDS. He described TRENDS as a global knowledge platform that promotes tolerance, moderation, and intellectual exchange. The collaboration also supports UAE-Italian cooperation in AI, technology, and economic development.

Joint Initiatives for Tolerance and Peace

Dr. Maria Luisa Fantappié, Head of the Mediterranean, Middle East, and Africa Programme at IAI, explained that both sides agreed to a strategic framework for cooperation. This includes producing rigorous research, launching joint initiatives to promote tolerance and peace, and holding regular meetings to enrich dialogue and develop forward-looking studies.

Promoting Sustainable Development and Knowledge Exchange

The partnership between TRENDS, Ce.S.I., and IAI reflects a strong commitment to research-driven collaboration, intellectual dialogue, and sustainable development. By combining expertise and experience, the institutions aim to foster understanding, stability, and shared prosperity across regions.
