Tribute to Queen Sirikit Highlights Cultural Commitment

Post by : Shakul

In a splendid ceremony, Thailand's Minister of Tourism and Sports, Surasak Panjaroenvorakul, led a group of ministry executives and staff in a royal candlelight tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. This event celebrated the milestone of the Queen's fourth-cycle birthday anniversary, bringing together various senior government officials and agency representatives to honor her legacy.

Held at the historic Sanam Luang, a key ceremonial ground in Thailand, the gathering included Cabinet members and state institution representatives who expressed their loyalty through traditional royal tribute customs.

Participants gathered at the venue to partake in the official rites presided over by Anutin Charnvirakul. The evening featured the offering of gold and silver floral arrangements before a royal portrait, culminating in a candle-lighting ceremony and the singing of the Royal Anthem.

Minister Surasak remarked on Queen Sirikit's profound influence on Thailand’s cultural landscape, highlighting her crucial role in preserving traditional textiles and handicrafts, which represent the country’s cultural identity and heritage.

He pointed out that these royal endeavors have notably bolstered Thailand's cultural stature on the world stage, enhancing the nation's soft power. Traditional crafts and local wisdom are increasingly being introduced to international audiences through tourism and cultural exchanges.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports continues to weave royal development principles into its strategies by backing community-based and cultural tourism initiatives, fostering income for locals while preserving rich cultural legacies and elevating Thailand's status as a premier cultural tourism destination.

Earlier, Seksan Ngaosuwan represented the ministry at a floral tribute event, reflecting the nation's gratitude for Queen Sirikit’s unwavering commitment to cultural preservation and the promotion of Thai heritage globally.
