Trump Signals Military Response to Iran Amid Ongoing Protests

Post by : Bianca Haleem

On Friday, US President Donald Trump issued a stern alert to Iran, describing the nation as facing severe challenges as extensive protests unfold across numerous cities.

During a press briefing, Trump noted that unrest has emerged in areas previously deemed stable just weeks prior. He emphasized that the demonstrations reflect a robust response from the Iranian populace against their government.

“Iran is in significant trouble,” he declared. “It appears that the citizens are taking control of certain cities that no one thought would fall into question just a few weeks ago.”

When pressed about his message to Iranian leaders, Trump cautioned them against employing violence against protesters. He affirmed that the United States would take action if the Iranian regime resorts to lethal force.

“You had better not begin shooting, because we’ll respond likewise,” he warned.

Trump specified that should Iran’s leadership initiate lethal actions against demonstrators, as he claimed has occurred in previous instances, the US would intervene. However, he clarified that this intervention would not entail deploying ground forces.

“This does not imply boots on the ground,” Trump noted, “but it does mean striking them very hard where it matters most.”

These comments come as Iran grapples with increasing dissent, drawing significant international scrutiny towards the nation’s governance amidst the ongoing protests.
