UAE and Armenia Discuss Defence Collaboration at Dubai Airshow 2025

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and the UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, met with Suren Papikyan, Armenia’s Defence Minister, on the sidelines of the ongoing Dubai Airshow at Dubai World Central, running until 21 November.

Sheikh Hamdan expressed a warm welcome to the Armenian delegation, highlighting the robust relationship between the two nations. He emphasized their shared commitment to expanding collaborations in defence, technology, development, and innovative industries, noting that stability is essential for sustainable economic growth and enduring progress.

Minister Papikyan expressed Armenia’s gratitude for the UAE's ongoing support, underlining his nation’s eagerness to further develop the burgeoning economic, cultural, and technological partnerships. He remarked that the Dubai Airshow provides an excellent platform for defence leaders and aerospace experts to share insights and identify new cooperation opportunities.

The talks concentrated on bolstering both conventional and cutting-edge defence capabilities, integrating advanced systems, and enhancing training programs to ensure personnel can proficiently manage new technologies. Participants also exchanged perspectives on regional and global developments, underscoring their efforts to uphold peace and stability.

Attendees included senior UAE officials such as Mohamed bin Mubarak bin Fadhel Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Defence Affairs; Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications; and Major General Khalifa Rashid Al Hamli, Director of the Office of the Minister of Defence.
