UAE Reiterates Stance Against Military Action on Iran

Post by : Bianca Haleem

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has reaffirmed its stance on neutrality and regional stability by declaring that it will not allow its airspace, land, or territorial waters to be utilized for any military actions against Iran.

In a statement shared via social media, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it would not assist in logistical support for operations targeting Iran. The ministry emphasized that dialogue, de-escalation, respect for sovereignty, and adherence to international law are essential for resolving regional conflicts.

Tensions have escalated in the region following comments from US President Donald Trump regarding an impending deployment of military assets toward Iran, though he expressed a desire to avoid military confrontation. Trump warned that military action may be necessary if Iran persists in what he has branded violent actions against its own protesters.

The USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, accompanied by three other warships, has reached the Middle East, causing concerns about potential military strikes. Additionally, the US military has confirmed the arrival of F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jets and noted increased activity from military cargo planes in the region.

What began as peaceful protests in Iran last month has since escalated into violence in various cities, according to Iranian officials. Activist organizations report approximately 5,973 fatalities and over 41,800 arrests, while Iranian authorities cite around 3,117 deaths.

Both the United States and Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad, have publicly acknowledged their involvement on the ground. Iranian officials referred to the unrest as part of a larger conflict that followed a 12-day confrontation with Israel in June.
