Post by : Bianca Haleem

According to the latest Future of Trade: Digitisation report from Standard Chartered, the UAE has been identified as the leading global market in digital trade readiness. This revelation emphasizes the nation's swift adaptation of advanced technologies, significantly influencing the landscape of international trade.

The report surveyed 1,200 multinational companies across various key markets. Notably, UAE firms demonstrated the highest cloud computing adoption, with 97% indicating it as a vital component of their digital evolution. This statistic sets the UAE apart, reflecting a strong digital foundation and a commitment from businesses to innovate.

Further findings indicate that digital asset adoption in the UAE has risen sharply to 68%, placing it among global leaders in the use of tokenized assets, blockchain solutions, and digital trade applications. The enthusiasm for sophisticated technologies doesn’t stop there, with AR/VR usage at 43% and AI integration at 36%, highlighting a trend towards immersive tools and intelligent automation in various operations.

Additionally, a strong majority of UAE businesses (96%) support the development of Digital Economy Agreements aimed at harmonizing digital trade standards internationally, underscoring a significant desire for enhanced global connectivity.

The study also points out that 73% of companies within the UAE prefer to handle their digital transformation initiatives internally. This illustrates a robust business climate characterized by skilled professionals capable of executing advanced digital projects without extensive external assistance.

With national policies focused on innovation and the private sector rapidly adopting technologies like AI, digital assets, and automation, the UAE solidifies its status as a major center for tech-driven trade. This data reinforces the nation's ongoing evolution in the global landscape of digital commerce.
