The United Arab Emirates (UAE) took part in the BRICS Youth Summit held in Brazil, joining other countries from the Global South. The summit focused on how young people can play a bigger role in building a sustainable future and having a voice in global decisions.

The UAE team was led by Khaled Al Nuaimi, Director of the Federal Youth Authority. He was joined by a group of talented young Emiratis, including members of the BRICS Youth Council and representatives from important national sectors that match BRICS' future goals.

This shows how committed the UAE is to giving its youth opportunities to shine on the international stage and contribute to shaping a better world.

Khaled Al Nuaimi said the UAE follows its leadership’s vision to empower young people and help them get involved in both local and international matters. He believes youth are the real drivers of change—especially when they are supported in building skills, becoming leaders, and having a seat at the table in global discussions.

He added that the summit was a great chance to work together with other young leaders from the Global South. It also encouraged youth to take the lead in areas like innovation, entrepreneurship, green economy, and digital technology—all of which are important for building a better and more sustainable future.

During the summit, several important topics were discussed, such as:

  • Youth cooperation among Global South countries
  • Challenges young people face in politics and leadership
  • Jobs and joint development opportunities
  • The role of education, science, and technology in national growth
  • Social justice, environmental protection, peace, and the rights of nations

The UAE’s involvement in this summit reflects its strong support for international youth cooperation. It highlights the country’s belief in young people’s power to help create a more fair, peaceful, and forward-looking world. The UAE also continues to back global youth dialogue and partnerships that promote innovation and sustainable growth.
