Global Food Week continues across the United Arab Emirates, serving as a key platform to strengthen the food sector from farm to table. The event gathers international experts and showcases national initiatives, helping small and medium enterprises (SMEs) promote their products and connect with global markets. The UAE aims to build a resilient, sustainable food ecosystem that supports innovation, local production, and trade.
The event focuses on procurement and supply chains, innovation in food industries, sustainable solutions, and access to UAE and regional markets. These pillars reflect the rapid development of the UAE’s food and beverage sector, from advanced agricultural technology to global trade, emphasizing sustainable growth and local production.
AlNoud Farm in Al-Foah, Al Ain, drew attention for its range of honey and dates produced in greenhouses and net houses. Manager Ghalia Albannai highlighted the farm’s role in supporting local agriculture and encouraging the community to choose locally sourced products. The farm received significant interest from visitors and potential business partners during the event.
Azbat Brida Products, managed by Noura Khalifa Al-Jabri, displayed more than 150 locally made items, including eggs and butter. Al-Jabri noted that participation was supported by the Mansour bin Zayed Agricultural Excellence Award. She praised the leadership’s support in empowering women and providing platforms to develop their businesses.
Bu Theeb Nursery & Fruits Farm, supervised by Salah Sayed, presented premium dates and fruits, including Medjool dates, figs, and mangoes. Sayed emphasized that the event helps them market their products and gain valuable knowledge. The farm has earned three awards from the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Award for its contributions to agriculture.
Mona Al-Mansoori introduced By Gezelle, offering dates mixed with nuts like pistachios, walnuts, and almonds in creative packaging. Her participation aimed to promote her products, expand marketing, and connect with business owners across the UAE and internationally.
Maryam Khalifa AlZaabi showcased her home-based perfume and incense project, using raw materials sourced from India. She highlighted how support from the Women’s Union and participation in events like Global Food Week help her promote her business and expand her market reach.
AlFafa Agricultural LLC, managed by Naser AlZaabi, focuses on strawberry production using artificial intelligence, producing over 1,200 tonnes per month with plans to reach 5,000 tonnes annually. AlZaabi emphasized that local agriculture provides an economic alternative to imports and strengthens food security.
Participants praised the UAE’s leadership for empowering women and supporting SMEs. Platforms like Global Food Week are crucial for promoting innovation, business expansion, and sustainable food security. Government support encourages investment in agriculture and contributes to the nation’s self-sufficiency.
