The Forbes Middle East Sustainability Leaders Summit concluded its third edition at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi, chaired by Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, the UAE’s Minister of Climate Change and Environment. Held under the theme “Guided by Legacy, Committed to Sustainability,” the two-day event emphasized the UAE’s leadership in advancing climate action and building a green economy.
Collaboration and Key Partners
The summit was organized in collaboration with the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and partnered with the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD), the Zayed Sustainability Prize, and the Zayed Authority for People of Determination. The NMDC Group served as the presenting partner. Together, these entities highlighted the UAE’s efforts to create a balanced, sustainable model for future growth.
Leaders Share Vision and Experience
The closing day featured discussions with key government and business leaders, including Shaikh Dr. Majid Sultan AlQassimi, Abdulla Abdulalee Abdulla Al Humaidan, and Eng. Yasser Zaghloul. Shaikh Dr. Majid stated, “Legacy is leadership in action,” emphasizing that sustainability is achieved through collective effort and continued commitment.
Abdulla Al Humaidan said that the UAE’s model of sustainability is human-centered and inclusive. He explained how the Zayed Authority for People of Determination works to build independence and quality of life for all citizens, turning sustainability into everyday action.
Green Innovation and Youth Engagement
Khuloud Al Omian, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Middle East, said the summit proved that sustainability is not a distant idea but a path toward economic and social progress. Sessions focused on how technology and AI can help tackle climate change and how smart cities can serve people and the planet together.
The Youth Forum featured young changemakers who discussed how green innovation and circular economy initiatives can create new opportunities and promote sustainable habits.
The event concluded with a call to accelerate the shift toward a sustainable, tech-driven economy through collaboration between government, business, and academia.
