The UAE National Anti-Doping Agency (UAE NADA) will take part in the 10th session of the Conference of Parties (COP10) to the International Convention against Doping in Sport. The event will be hosted by UNESCO at its headquarters in Paris from 20th to 22nd October. COP10 marks the 20th anniversary of the Convention and provides an opportunity to review progress and plan future strategies to protect sports ethics and integrity globally.
Celebrating Two Decades of Progress
This conference celebrates twenty years of international efforts against doping in sport. Experts and officials will reflect on achievements, identify gaps, and discuss strategies for strengthening the implementation of anti-doping standards worldwide. It serves as a platform for member states to exchange experiences and reinforce the global commitment to fair play.
UAE’s Commitment to Clean Sports
Dr. Mai Ahmed Al Jaber, President of UAE NADA, stated that the UAE’s participation demonstrates its commitment to implementing international anti-doping standards. She emphasized that the country continues to work closely with global partners to ensure the integrity of all sports competitions and protect athletes from unfair practices.
Key Topics and Agenda
During the conference, discussions will focus on countries’ compliance with the International Convention, enhancing collaboration with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), and adopting new action plans to prevent doping. These discussions aim to unify global efforts and set clear goals for the next decade of anti-doping measures.
Future Participation in Global Events
Dr. Al Jaber added that UAE NADA will also take part in the upcoming World Anti-Doping Conference, scheduled from 1st to 5th December in Busan, South Korea. The conference will continue the dialogue on protecting sports integrity and share the latest research, tools, and strategies to fight doping worldwide.
Global Collaboration for Fair Play
COP10 will bring together more than 1,500 representatives, including athletes, sports organizations, governments, laboratories, researchers, media, and service providers. All participants aim to strengthen global coordination, exchange knowledge, and ensure sports remain free from prohibited substances and unethical practices.
Through its active involvement in COP10, the UAE reinforces its dedication to clean and fair sports. The country’s participation highlights its proactive approach to international cooperation, athletes’ protection, and upholding ethical standards, setting an example for regional and global sports communities.
