President Abdel Fattah El Sisi of Egypt inaugurated the Egypt Defence Expo 2025 (EDEX 2025), one of the largest platforms for defence and security industries in the region. The exhibition hosted many official delegations and global companies highlighting the latest in defence technology.
During the opening, President El Sisi visited the UAE Pavilion, organised by ADNEC Group with support from the Tawazun Council for Defence Empowerment and the Ministry of Defence. The pavilion featured top UAE companies, including EDGE Group, Calidus, GAL, AMMROC, and ADNEC, showcasing their advanced solutions in aerial and land systems, cybersecurity, military manufacturing, and technical support.
The UAE Pavilion received visits from senior officials and leaders, including Lieutenant General Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces; Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to Egypt; Major General Yousef Mayouf Al Halami, Commander of the Land Forces; and Dr. Nasser Humaid Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of Tawazun Council. Egyptian leaders, including Major General Mokhtar Abdel Latif, Chairman of the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation, also attended.
Visitors praised the UAE Pavilion for its advanced organisation and the high quality of the displayed technologies. The event highlighted the UAE’s role in promoting innovation in defence and supporting the development of advanced defence industries.
On the first day, several memoranda of understanding were signed to strengthen industrial and defence cooperation between the UAE and Egypt. AMMROC signed three agreements with the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation covering aircraft, engines, and digital manufacturing. GAL signed two memoranda, and Abu Dhabi Aviation Group signed six agreements with the Egyptian organisation, aiming to enhance joint military manufacturing and technological development.
The UAE’s participation in EDEX 2025 demonstrates its commitment to expanding strategic partnerships, promoting its national defence industries internationally, and supporting Egypt’s defence and security sector development. These efforts also reflect the growing collaboration between the two countries in defence technology, operational expertise, and industrial advancement.
Through the UAE Pavilion and the agreements signed, the country reinforces its dedication to excellence, modernisation, and cooperation in the defence field. The event strengthens relations between UAE and Egypt, fostering mutual support in military innovation and advanced industry projects.
EDEX 2025 also provided an opportunity for UAE companies to demonstrate their operational capabilities, explore joint ventures, and exchange knowledge with Egyptian partners. The collaboration ensures long-term growth in the defence sector, benefiting both nations while positioning the UAE as a regional leader in defence technology and industrial development.
