UAE Praised For Supporting Palestinian Women With Aid Programs

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

Amal Al-Agha, the Chairwoman of the Palestinian Women’s Union in Cairo, has praised the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for its strong and continuous support to Palestinian women. She explained that the aid provided by the UAE, especially through the General Women’s Union, has played a vital role in helping Palestinian women endure hardships, particularly those living in Gaza under very difficult conditions. Al-Agha said the UAE’s contributions have made a real difference by easing daily struggles and strengthening the resilience of women who often bear the responsibility of supporting their families.

Helping Women Overcome Daily Challenges

Al-Agha noted that Palestinian women face enormous challenges due to the humanitarian situation in Gaza. Many women are breadwinners, students, or caregivers, and they need constant support to continue their lives. She emphasized that the UAE’s continuous delivery of humanitarian and food aid has given these women strength to face such challenges. Without this aid, many families would struggle even more to provide meals, medical care, and education for their children. This assistance has allowed women to persevere with hope and determination.

Role Of The General Women’s Union

During her remarks, Al-Agha praised the General Women’s Union of the UAE for its leading role in supporting women. The Union has worked closely with Palestinian women’s associations and charitable organizations that focus on women’s issues. Through financial assistance, food deliveries, and development programs, the Union has ensured that women in Gaza and other affected areas receive the help they need. Al-Agha described the Union’s efforts as a shining example of Arab solidarity, where one country stands firmly by the side of another in times of crisis.

Support For Female Breadwinners And Students

One of the important areas where the UAE’s support has been most visible is in helping female breadwinners and students. In many Palestinian families, women are the main providers of income due to conflict and displacement. The UAE has directed aid to these women, giving them financial and food support to help them manage their households. At the same time, educational support has been extended to female students, ensuring that young women do not have to abandon their studies because of poverty or hardship. This dual focus on mothers and students helps both the present and future generations of Palestinians.

UAE’s Broader Humanitarian Programs

Al-Agha also pointed out that the UAE’s role is not limited to food and basic supplies. The country has launched and supported several large-scale humanitarian programs in Gaza. For example, the “Chivalrous Knight” initiative and the “Birds of Goodness” operation have delivered aid directly to affected areas. These programs have included establishing field hospitals to treat patients, providing vaccination campaigns to protect public health, and carrying out regular food distributions to families in need. Such projects are essential in improving the living conditions of people who are under extreme pressure.

Field Hospitals And Medical Campaigns

Healthcare is one of the most urgent needs in Gaza, where hospitals and clinics are often overwhelmed. The UAE has stepped in by setting up field hospitals that can provide immediate medical attention to those who need it. These temporary hospitals allow doctors to treat injuries, illnesses, and emergencies in areas where local health centers cannot cope. Alongside this, vaccination campaigns supported by the UAE have protected children and adults from preventable diseases. Such medical aid gives Palestinian women confidence that their families can still access healthcare despite the challenges.

Securing Safe Drinking Water

Another major contribution highlighted by Al-Agha is the UAE’s involvement in securing safe drinking water for Gaza. Access to clean water is one of the biggest challenges for residents, and without it, families face risks of illness and dehydration. The UAE, in cooperation with Egypt, has worked on joint projects to provide clean and safe water for affected areas. This has been a great relief for many families, especially for women who are responsible for caring for children and the elderly. The project is an example of how humanitarian aid can go beyond immediate needs to address long-term survival.

Arab Solidarity In Action

According to Al-Agha, the UAE’s actions reflect a true sense of Arab solidarity. By constantly supporting Palestinian women and their families, the UAE shows how Arab countries can unite to help one another. The General Women’s Union, in particular, has set an example for other organizations in the Arab world by taking concrete steps to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Al-Agha stressed that such solidarity is crucial during times of hardship because it not only provides material support but also sends a powerful message of unity and shared responsibility.

Appreciation For Egypt’s Role

While highlighting the UAE’s contributions, Al-Agha also took time to appreciate Egypt’s important role in facilitating humanitarian aid into Gaza. Egypt has provided access routes for relief supplies, ensuring that food, water, and medical aid can reach those who need it most. This cooperation between Egypt and the UAE reflects the strength of regional partnerships in dealing with humanitarian emergencies. Together, they have managed to keep the flow of aid active despite the many obstacles in the region.

A Lasting Commitment To Palestinian Women

Al-Agha concluded her remarks by expressing her deep gratitude to the UAE for its consistent and lasting commitment to supporting Palestinian women. She explained that such sustained support helps women stay strong, care for their families, and continue contributing to society even during times of great struggle. The UAE’s involvement is not just about temporary relief but about empowering women with the resources and confidence they need to move forward. For Palestinian women, this kind of support is a source of hope and resilience.

A Model Of Generosity And Support

The UAE’s humanitarian work, especially through the General Women’s Union, demonstrates how international aid can directly improve the lives of women in crisis situations. From food parcels and student support to medical campaigns and water projects, the UAE has delivered wide-ranging assistance to Palestinian women and their families. Amal Al-Agha’s praise reflects the gratitude of countless women whose lives have been touched by these efforts. The UAE’s role serves as a model of generosity, solidarity, and compassion, showing the world how consistent humanitarian action can help people endure even the toughest challenges.
