The United Arab Emirates is set to experience another spell of intense summer weather, with temperatures expected to climb as high as 47°C in inland regions over the weekend. According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), most parts of the country will witness generally fair conditions, while eastern areas may see periods of low cloud cover.
Meteorologists have warned residents to prepare for extreme daytime heat, particularly in desert and inland locations where temperatures are forecast to remain significantly above 40°C.
Dusty Winds May Reduce Visibility
Weather experts have also forecast light to moderate southwesterly and northwesterly winds across the country. These winds are expected to strengthen at times, especially in western regions, leading to blowing dust and sand in open areas.
Wind speeds could range between 10 and 25 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 40 km/h. Drivers are advised to remain cautious in areas affected by reduced visibility caused by dust and sand movement.
Humid Nights Could Trigger Fog Formation
While daytime conditions remain extremely hot, humidity levels are expected to rise during the night and early morning hours. Coastal regions in particular may experience increased moisture levels, creating favorable conditions for fog or mist formation.
The NCM noted that fog patches could develop during the early hours of Saturday and Sunday, potentially affecting visibility for motorists traveling along coastal highways and urban roads.
Different Regions to Experience Varying Temperatures
Coastal cities and islands are expected to record temperatures between 36°C and 42°C, while mountainous areas may see slightly cooler conditions ranging from 32°C to 37°C.
However, inland regions will continue to bear the brunt of the summer heat, with maximum temperatures ranging between 43°C and 47°C. Authorities continue to advise residents to avoid prolonged outdoor exposure during peak afternoon hours.
Weekend Weather to Remain Mostly Stable
Saturday and Sunday are forecast to remain largely fair across the country, although partly cloudy conditions may develop over eastern areas. Humidity levels are expected to remain elevated overnight, increasing the possibility of mist and fog in selected locations.
Sea conditions in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are expected to remain slight to moderate, allowing normal marine activities to continue without major disruption.
Stronger Winds Expected Early Next Week
Weather conditions are likely to become slightly breezier by Monday as northwesterly winds strengthen over land and sea. Wind speeds may once again reach 40 km/h, particularly across exposed coastal and offshore areas.
Forecasters say the Arabian Gulf could become moderate to rough by Monday evening, prompting mariners and fishermen to closely monitor weather updates issued by authorities.
Slight Relief From Heat Expected by Tuesday
Residents may experience a minor drop in temperatures by Tuesday as fresh northwesterly winds bring slightly cooler conditions. Despite the expected decrease, weather experts say temperatures will remain seasonally high across most regions.
Dusty conditions could continue in open areas, while rough sea conditions may persist in parts of the Arabian Gulf before gradually easing later in the week.
