UAE Facilitates Release of 370 Captives in Russia-Ukraine Swap, Total Hits 7,471

The United Arab Emirates has played a crucial role in facilitating a significant prisoner exchange between the Russian Federation and Ukraine. This latest operation saw 370 captives swapped, with both nations contributing 185 individuals each.

With this transaction, the overall count of detainees released through UAE-led negotiations has soared to 7,471 since 2022, marking the 24th successful mediation by the UAE in this ongoing humanitarian mission.

The UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs commended both parties for their collaboration, emphasizing the Emirates' position as a reliable international mediator dedicated to alleviating tensions and fostering humanitarian solutions amidst the ongoing conflict.

The ministry highlighted that the success of these negotiations underscores the robust relations between the UAE, Russia, and Ukraine, showcasing trust in the UAE's diplomatic role in promoting global peace.

Officials reiterated the UAE's commitment to supporting all initiatives aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution to the conflict, striving to minimize the humanitarian fallout on families, refugees, and captives impacted by the war.
