A high-level United Nations delegation, led by Dr. Ramiz Alakbarov, the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in the Palestinian territories, visited the UAE field hospital in Gaza. The purpose of the visit was to review the UAE’s ongoing efforts to support the health sector during the current crisis. The delegation received detailed information about how the hospital is working to save lives and provide urgent medical help to people affected by the conflict.
During the tour, the UN team was shown how the hospital treats the wounded and injured. They learned how emergency cases are received and how the medical team works around the clock to provide life-saving treatment. The visitors saw the different medical sections, including emergency rooms, surgery areas, and recovery units. The hospital staff explained how they manage a continuous flow of patients despite the difficult conditions.
The delegation heard about the UAE’s wider efforts to support Gaza during this difficult time. They were briefed on how the UAE is working to strengthen the health sector by providing supplies, equipment, and trained teams. The UN officials expressed deep appreciation for the UAE’s important role in helping civilians and easing their suffering. They said the hospital’s work is vital, especially when the local health system is under extreme pressure.
The delegation also visited the warehouses of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, the UAE’s major humanitarian operation. They were shown how aid items are stored, prepared, and transported. The team learned about the logistics system used to make sure the aid reaches vulnerable families quickly and safely. The UAE officials explained the careful planning behind the distribution process, which ensures that food, medical supplies, and other essentials reach people who need them most.
Dr. Alakbarov praised the strong progress of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3. He thanked the UAE for its leadership in delivering urgent humanitarian assistance and supporting civilians facing severe challenges. He said the UAE’s work in Gaza is an example of true humanitarian solidarity and effective crisis response. According to him, the UAE is showing the world how to respond with compassion and efficiency during a major crisis.
Dr. Alakbarov also commended the UAE for organizing the first mass wedding in Gaza, describing it as an effort to bring hope and emotional relief to young people during a very difficult time. He said that initiatives like this give communities strength and help them maintain hope, even when they are facing serious challenges. He noted that happiness and emotional well-being are also important parts of humanitarian support.
At the end of the visit, the delegation stressed the importance of continuing international cooperation to support the people of Gaza. They said that joint efforts between countries, humanitarian organizations, and local authorities are necessary to help civilians withstand the current situation. The team highlighted that ongoing coordination is essential for improving living conditions and ensuring that vital aid keeps reaching those in need.
