Vadodara Family Appeals For Son Allegedly Trapped In Thailand

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

A family from Vadodara, Gujarat, has raised a serious concern about their 28-year-old son, Tushar Ranpara, who they believe is being held against his will in Thailand. His parents have made urgent appeals to the police, state government, and central authorities to rescue their son and bring him back safely. The matter has shocked the local community and attracted wide attention due to the increasing risks young Indians face when seeking jobs abroad.

The Young Man’s Journey Abroad

Tushar’s story began in April 2024 when he left his home in Vadodara and traveled to Dubai. He had secured a job there with the help of a private company, and at first, everything seemed normal. Like many young Indians, he dreamed of building a better future for himself and his family by working overseas. His parents, Nagarbhai and Rita Ranpara, supported his decision and kept in regular contact with him while he was in Dubai.

Move From Dubai To Thailand

Several months later, in September 2024, a Dubai-based agent named Abhishek Kumar suggested that Tushar should move to Thailand for better work opportunities. Believing this would improve his career and income, Tushar agreed to the arrangement. The family did not suspect that this move could put him in danger, as overseas employment agents often promise lucrative jobs to young workers.

Sudden Loss Of Contact

For a while, everything seemed fine, but about five months ago, communication with Tushar suddenly stopped. His parents became extremely worried when his phone was taken away, and he was no longer able to call or message them. They fear that Tushar may have been tricked and is now being held captive in Thailand, possibly forced to work against his will.

Parents Express Deep Worry

Tushar’s parents, Nagarbhai and Rita, have spoken openly about their fears. They believe their son is in danger and may be under the control of those who took away his freedom. They have said that their son was a hard-working young man who only wanted to provide for his family, but now he may be trapped in an unsafe situation far away from home. Their emotional appeal to authorities shows the pain and helplessness families feel in such cases.

Police Register A Case

The Vadodara City Police quickly took action after receiving the family’s complaint. They registered a case and passed it on to the Vadodara City Crime Branch for deeper investigation. Officials have assured the family that the case is being treated with the highest urgency.

Statement From The Police

Assistant Commissioner of Police (G Division), GB Bambhaniya, confirmed that the police are working actively to trace Tushar. He said:
"We are treating this matter with utmost urgency. We are coordinating with relevant authorities to investigate the claims and trace Tushar’s whereabouts."

This shows that local law enforcement is fully aware of the seriousness of the issue and is committed to helping the family.

Investigating The Agents

The police are also focusing on the agents who arranged Tushar’s travel from Dubai to Thailand. If these agents are involved in illegal recruitment or human trafficking, they could face serious charges. Authorities are checking whether any laws were broken during the process of relocating Tushar, and whether these agents may be part of a larger scam network targeting Indian workers.

Appeal To Government Authorities

The Ranpara family has not limited their efforts to the police alone. They have also requested support from both the Gujarat state government and the central government of India. Their hope is that higher-level officials will use diplomatic and legal channels to reach out to Thai authorities and the Indian Embassy in Thailand. Such international cooperation is often necessary to trace and rescue citizens trapped abroad.

Importance Of Consular Support

In situations like this, Indian consular services play a vital role. The embassy or consulate in Thailand could help verify Tushar’s location, check his safety, and take steps for his release. Officials may also work with Thai law enforcement to investigate whether he is indeed being forced into illegal labor or confinement.

Experts On Overseas Employment Risks

Experts say that many Indians looking for jobs abroad fall prey to employment scams or false promises by agents. Often, workers are promised high-paying jobs in foreign countries but end up in situations where their passports and phones are taken away, leaving them vulnerable. These cases require strong coordination between both countries to ensure the worker’s safe return.

Community And Public Reactions

The case of Tushar Ranpara has quickly become a topic of discussion in Vadodara. Many residents have expressed solidarity with the family, while local media and social media users are raising awareness about the risks of unverified overseas job offers. Social activists have also called for stricter monitoring of recruitment agents and more protection for Indian workers abroad.

The Larger Problem Of Human Trafficking

Tushar’s situation is not unique. Across India, several families have reported similar incidents where their loved ones were lured with job promises and then trapped abroad. Such cases highlight the urgent need for tighter regulations on recruitment agents, stronger screening of overseas employment offers, and quick government intervention when things go wrong.

Moving Forward: Efforts To Rescue Tushar

The authorities have promised Tushar’s family that they are doing everything possible to locate him and secure his safe return. Investigations in Vadodara continue, while appeals to state, central, and international bodies are being made. The Ranpara family, meanwhile, continues to spread awareness and ask for public support in their campaign to save their son.

Hope For A Safe Return

For Tushar’s parents, every day without news is filled with fear and pain. They remain hopeful that the authorities will act quickly and that their son will return home safely. Their story is a reminder of the dangers of overseas job scams and the need for vigilance from both families and the government to protect young workers.

A Call For Vigilance And Support

The case of Tushar Ranpara from Vadodara highlights how quickly dreams of a better future abroad can turn into nightmares. His family’s desperate appeal reflects the vulnerability of thousands of Indians who take risks in search of better opportunities overseas. With proper investigation, international cooperation, and strict action against fraudulent agents, families like the Ranparas can hope for justice and the safe return of their loved ones.
