Victory Team officially secured the UIM XCAT Powerboat World Championship after winning the main race of the Dubai Grand Prix on Friday. This important victory confirmed the team as the overall champion of the 2025 season, even before the remaining races are completed.
The winning duo, Salem Al Adidi and Issa Al Ali, raced aboard Victory 7 and delivered a confident and well-planned performance. The race was held at Al Nessnass Beach in Jumeirah, Dubai, where the team started calmly and steadily moved past their rivals one by one. Their strong finish in the first main heat was enough to seal the world title.
Victory Team earned 35 points from the race, raising their total score to 165 points. This gave them a clear 39-point lead over the British team, which finished fifth and collected only 18 points, remaining at 126 points. With this gap, no other team can catch Victory Team in the standings.
This championship is the team’s seventh XCAT world title, adding to wins achieved between 2012 and 2017. It is also the team’s 27th world title across different international marine racing competitions, underlining their long-standing success and leadership in the sport.
Senior UAE sports officials attended the award ceremony and praised the achievement. Team officials highlighted that strong teamwork, careful preparation, and determination helped them secure the title early rather than waiting for later races.
Salem Al Adidi said focus and confidence played a key role in the win, while Issa Al Ali thanked everyone who supported the team throughout the season, calling the victory a proud moment for Victory Team and UAE marine sports.
