Vietnam's General Secretary and President To Lam, alongside his wife Ngo Phuong Ly, had an audience with King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida in Bangkok. This meeting represents a key moment in the deepening ties between the two nations, coinciding with 50 years of their diplomatic relationship.
The Thai King welcomed President To Lam, underscoring the importance of this visit, especially with the recent upgrade of bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. King Vajiralongkorn shared optimism that this enhanced partnership will pave the way for new areas of cooperation, benefiting regional peace and prosperity.
During their exchange, the King acknowledged Vietnam's impressive socio-economic progress and recalled fond memories from his past visits to the country, noting his respect for Vietnam’s development and cultural richness.
In response, President To Lam expressed gratitude for the royal family's hospitality and extended warm regards from Vietnam’s leadership. He commended Thailand’s social and economic strides, expressing his belief in the country’s ongoing influence within ASEAN and globally.

This includes initiatives in defense, trade, cultural exchanges, and more.
President To Lam also recognized the Thai Royal Family's contributions to social and educational projects in Vietnam, thanking them for their support of the Vietnamese community in Thailand, and requesting continued efforts to preserve Vietnamese heritage sites in the country.
